Shoofly Pie to Die (A Thomas Dunne Book)

Summary: Gag me with a pie server!
Review: I haven't read this book for years, but I recentlycame across a note about it I sent a friend.The book is arch, cutesy, and elitist. Everything outside of New York is described as being unsophisticated and hokey, the main cop is shown to be a baddie by the fact that she wears nude pantyhose(!), and Sara Amstel earns our contempt by making clever remarks such as "Does any adult actually drink milk?". What's more, there isn't even any shoo-fly pie in the book.
