Terlingua Ale

Summary: Couldn't put this book down!
Review: I had planned to read TERLINGUA ALE after the New Year. Deciding to sample the first few pages in late December, just to see what the book was like, I found myself reading the words "THE END" much too soon a few days later. TERLINGUA ALE is such a colorful, fast-moving ride, I couldn't set the book aside until I had finished it. Once I had completed the book, however, I found myself disappointed that it was over. I now eagerly await the next installment in Margaret Searles' fantastic series!

The main characters, Margaret Millet and Judy Hark, are two supposedly elderly ladies ... although you would never know it by their active, open-minded, inquisitive lives, not to mention their penchant for solving murder mysteries!

As the reader accompanies these ladies throughout their daily lives in the "Back of Beyond," in an RV Park on the Rio Grande River, the reader is treated to the sights, sounds, and foods of the region. Margaret Searles describes her characters so well, the reader is left with the impression that he or she personally knows the residents who inhabit this region. TERLINGUA ALE delights the senses while challenging the mind with a well-written, fast-paced but gradually unfolding murder mystery.

Now a fan of the "Mrs. Millet and Mrs. Hark Mystery" series, I eagerly await the next book!
