Summary: Good book but very one-sided
Review: A good in-depth look at 1% ers but very one -sided and anti Hells Angels. Most of the information in the book comes from rat informants who committed worse crimes than those discussed and from police who know nothing of the club. If they did the Angels might not still be around. As a Red and White supporter I know that not all Angels are saints but then neither are the police that chase them. Support Your Local 81!!!

Summary: WAKE UP to the reality of the EVIL Hells Angels
Review: A great book that is a major wake-up call to the public about the Hells and other similar gangs - one in a series of three books. The book depicts how the gangs put up a public face as biker enthusiasts, as they cowardly and ruthlessly engage in murder and mayhem. See for yourself how these ... so-called tough guys manipulate and destroy society. Overall a very good book which could have used some further editing for clarity in parts. The slogan AHAMD may be a little stong as a remedy for the problem, but the evidence is clear that you ignore these misfits and criminals at your peril.

Summary: Who is this guy?
Review: An apparently well researched and written book on the background and history of the Hell's Angels, as well as many of the other major 1% clubs. The book is ten years out of date as of this writing, and is mostly about things in Canada, but is still interesting. I have some problems with the stuff between the lines, so to speak. What is the author's agenda in writing a work like this? Why does he have such a vendetta against his subject? The book is loaded with dates, names and events, but lists no sources other than an occasional "police photo" caption. The author has apparently gleaned his facts from thin air or from informant interviews and occasional public files or both. Perhaps "Yves" is an ex-member with an axe to grind. Who Knows? An interesting read, but take it with a grain of salt (or a bag...)

Summary: Great read
Review: Author does a great job of telling the HAMC tale: from their beginnings as a bunch of post-WW11 pilots out having fun, to their present day status as pimps, dope dealers, and killers. This book shows how greed twists people into monsters.

Summary: Strange, disconnected and confusing
Review: But still interesting. I'm an organized crime book junkie, so I loved much of the information in this, but it's told in such a weird, disconnected style that I wasn't sure what the point was. The author's opinion seems to be that the Hell's Angels are very naughty people and we should all be very scared of them, but I didn't get the sense that there was much of a point to the book beyond that. The main thing that works against Lavigne is that he jumps around so randomly in time that he'll be telling you about 1974 in one paragraph (in present tense) and then the next paragraph will be about 1984, with absolutely no transition. Reads like it was written by a guy on his fourth week of a bender on bad biker speed. He also rarely cites sources -- what are these, court documents? Confidential informants? Who the heck knows. Even so, the information is interesting, especially if you're a crime junkie. If you're looking for a book that makes much sense, though, look elsewhere.

Summary: One Cops Opinion
Review: Every one should read this book. A real eye opener. These are not a bunch of guys who just like to ride motorcycles, drink beer and get in fights. This is the most accurate story and history of the Hells Angels I have seen. Life means little and money means a lot to this bunch.

Summary: Bluntly True, shockingly real!!!!!!
Review: First I have to say, I had been an associate of the club for quite some time, and there is very little in this book that is not true, as someone that was close to them, I can say that "they" were not happy about this book and tried very hard to claim all the information in the book was false, however I know many things contained in it were all to true. I once considered many of them very close personal friends, unfortunatly I came to find that no one is a close friend, not even their own are safe. Yes they do "Eat thier own". as one of the cartoon illustrations in the book shows. I can not go into any datails about my own experiences, except to say I was beaten, robbed, extorted, and nearly murdered by men I thought were my friends. My "friends" came with smiles, as they always had in the past, only this time it was different and I was thrust into a realm of terror I cannot begin to detail in this review. But let me say in closing that nearly all the details in this book are true, and I commend the auther for putting it in print and saying what many were afraid to say. I give it two thumbs up!!!!!

Summary: One more thing...
Review: From the second i opened this amazing exploration of wheels and deals, I was on the edge of my banana seat. Forget tonka trucks and PUCH mopeds - these bikes are what its all about. I was a little nervous at the beginning because of the expletive in the title, but then I found out it was just a way for the angels to identify themselves in this crazy crazy world we live in.

as far as secret keeping and three minus two - i lost track but who cares.
