Rating: Summary: Where art thou my precious Kiwi Review: Having been an up standing member of the Army of FC and having been on the frontlines of the StormFront and Deepak assualts, I thought I should only buy puds book so that he would keep the bandwidth flowing for one more week. Since this time I have determined that I have wasted far too much time posting on FC and long for its closure so I may return to productivity. So even though the book is funny as hell and somewhat truthful, please do not buy it, so that I may once again be a productive member of society. Ra!
Rating: Summary: Highly dissappointing Review: Not much here that hasn't been said a thousand times before in the media about the excesses of the dotcom bubble. The author appears to be a master of self-promotion. This can be the only reason behind him being able to publish a book. It certainly isn't due to his insight or writing skills.

Rating: Summary: Got a good laugh from this book Review: Having visited f'dcompany.com site almost daily since it first appeared, I always enjoyed Kaplan's sense of humor and was greatly looking forward to this book. I was not dissapointed. Although some of the material was taken from his writups on the site, he expanded the story behind each companies downfall, often pointing out just how stupid most of the ideas for the sites were. Or how much money was blown on a site that a couple of teenagers could of done for almost nothing. He has many funny lines in the book and I found myself laughing out loud frequently. You also get a brief history of Pud's life and how f'company came to be. If this book does not convince those remaining free sites that you can't make money on banner advertising, then those companies will be in Pud's next book!
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: Pud just tells it like it is...anyone wanting to start an Company should be required to read this so you don't make the same stupid ... mistakes ;-)...Any one who loves synical writing will appreciate Puds blutness.
Rating: Summary: I laughed, I cried.... Review: ...I think I may have soiled myself. Ahhh a sweet little ditty that is F'ed Companies. Delicious and macabre, a jaunty ride down the bumpy road that was the glorious "Second Gold Rush". How so much talent and psychic ability can be housed within the physical confines of one strange man is simply incomprehensible to those with even above-average intelligence. This book in hindsight was a true harbinger of things to come, though since it was released after the fact, I suppose that statement cancels itself out and my point is moot. But the book! Oh, the book - sheer delight on every page, and I promise you, your home library is lack without Mr. Kaplan's irreverant, insider's perspective on the debauchery, the deception, the greed, the mayhem that was the Dot Com era. This reviewer waits anxiously for more from Mr. Kaplan and looks forward to the next train wreck he can bring to life, so eloquently, so quiescently, so deliriously! One hopes he will next tackle the election scams, or perhaps Enron, or maybe even the rise and fall of....something. Mrs. Fromaggerier gives it an enthusiastic digit UP! And so should you. Run, don't walk, to wherever Mr. Kaplan is signing his epic tale, coming soon to a bookseller near you.
Rating: Summary: Proof there is a god Review: Ain't it cool how Pud is still in business, and most of his detractors are hoping you'll supersize that Big Mac without making them beg for the upgrade? In addition to being hilarious, this masterful tome reinforces the single most important lesson of the Intermess: porn works (maybe that's why everyone went bust, nyuck nyuck nyuck). Can't wait for the TV show, dude.
Rating: Summary: Byline: Securing Pud's Retirement with this book... Review: Philip Kaplan has a winner. Although admittedly not the finest or most eloquent writer, Kaplan (accurately?) defines one of history's greatest financial soap operas. The rise and fall of many 'dot.com' flameouts are interestingly outlined in this book.Kaplan's book will be referenced by white-collar business schools for generations to come; an odd honor bestowed upon someone who carried out a terrific idea in a most irreverant manner. While the book is no english lesson, Kaplan dispenses the perfect amount of punditry, porn and pathos to make the overall quality of the book excellent. The book certainly rides the wave of his successful companion website, and comes at the perfect time to educate and entertain all who have either witnessed or participated in the dot.bomb phenom. A+.
Rating: Summary: George Carlin, you've got competition! Review: As a long-time follower of ...dcompany.com (at least since June, 2000), I knew what I'd be getting from *PUD*: The plain and ugly truth. Kaplan's introduction should be an entire book itself. After reading the intro, you will no longer look at the geeky guy in the small cubicle typing away the same way again. Kaplan writes in this book EXACTLY what we're all thinking about the companies who have started up fast, but melted (or burned) away even faster! No financial analysis, no historical look into their psyche, just a summary of "what the [heck] were they thinking???" A perfect book for a quick flight from Atlanta to New York!
