Summary: Excellent stories
Review: This book looks at the formation of some of the largest gaming corporations as well as a view of Sin City from the eyes of everyday people who live and work in Sin City. This is a must-read for any Vegas addict.

Summary: Super Casino
Review: This book was quite a let down. Subtitled 'Inside the "New" Las Vegas' it really just re-hashed the old Las Vegas we have read about before. The anecdotes about Owners, Dealers, Hookers, Cab drivers etc, contained in this book could have been written ten or twenty years ago. The story is the same, only the names of the casinos changed.

Summary: A swell book
Review: This is a good book for those interested in Vegas. Although I expected this to be a behind-the-scenes account of Las Vegas casinos, that part is surprisingly small and forgetable. Where this book succeeds is in its comprehensive view of the history of Vegas through an in-depth look at the birth and early years of Circus Circus. It also gives the simplest and easy explanation of card counting that I have ever read. The card counting bit is just a brief snippet in the introduction (and it is not so much a guide on how to card count, but an explanation of the logic of why card counting works), but it puts counting logic into perspective. Also, if you buy this book, I hear the writer's wife may kiss you. Okay, so I made the last part up, but a guy can dream, can't he?

Summary: Inside the Super Casino
Review: This is an excellent book covering all of the glamour and mystique of Las Vegas, as well as the adventures and personal issues some of those who live there (such as the casino dealers, managers, hookers, and gamblers) face every day. It allowed a more thorough insight into their lives as well as the inner workings of one of the largest casino operators in the world - Mandalay Bay Group (Circus, Circus). It also showed the opportunities and pitfalls that await anyone who sets foot in the city faces. It allowed me to gain a better appreciation for one of the most famous cities in the world.
