Summary: This book changed my life and can change the planet.
Review: Jack Herer's compendium shocks the reader into activism by showing how the greatest plant the world has ever known is being demonized for corporate profits. Since reading this book, I have been preaching the benefits of the hemp plant and utilizing it myself by eating hemp products and buying hemp clothes for myself and as gifts. Read the book, spread the word, and save the world.

Summary: A Treasure of Marijuana lore...
Review: Jack Herer's literary contribution to the cause of sane marijuana laws is as informative as it is fun. Hats off to the author for his courage to tell it like it is; highly recommended for mid-teen ages and up.

Summary: Is this all there is?
Review: Jack Herer's scrapbook of information and argumentation was delightful as it was entertaining. I recommend reading this on the basis of pure enjoyment. Go ahead, have fun, nourish the pothead within. You can hear him. He's screaming to come out. I'm curious, in all sincerity, does anyone know of any scholarly/critical reviews on this book. It has me thinking, but it is hard to to trust its legitimacy based on its tabloid like appearance. Is there a community of sympathetic scholars that agree with anything that said in here, or am I giving this book more credit and it deserves? I am not a pothead myself, but after reading this book I can say I and sympathetic to their cause. The question that comes to my mind after reading this book is: if the government has allowed Alcohol and tobacco, which are far more destructive to society, why hasn't allowed marijuana? Why wasn't it an issue until the 1930s? If the government is really so concerned with our health why don't they ban McDonald's and other fast food places? I am interested in hear a response to Jack Herer's arguments from somebody... Work with me people, if anyone knows of such a work, could they please post it on Amazon. There has to be authoritative objectives to this book if it has any legitimacy.

Summary: Cannabis is: Food,Fuel,Fiber,FARMaceuticals
Review: The Cannabis Bible, everything you have always wanted to know about cannabis, but were afraid of getting busted to ask. Excellant. Jack has been a light to all of the younger activists. Those of us in it from the 60's also owe him a debt, for the resurgance. Can't wait until the government understands. If people like Jack lead, the "leaders" will follow. END

Summary: The book that Changed my life
Review: The most revolutionary book about cannabis history of all time. All the other books on the subject took their information from this one, the one, the only Emperor Wears No Clothes.
It will no doubt change your life too.

Summary: Excellent book
Review: The must-have book for anyone interested in marijuana or hemp. This is the book that inspired us all to become hempsters! Tons and tons of information, backed up with all the original documentation. A very impressive piece of research, with up-to-date updates and revisions.

Summary: Prepare to be Outraged
Review: The nitpicking of the pseudo-scholar aside, this is truly an excellent book that is well researched!
Each of his points are debatable, and researchers and scholars have debated this for years! To imply that his point of view is the only point of view is the height of arrogance! And his statement in explaining HIS point of view (NOT the point of view of MANY "Scholars") "Arsenic and other poisons happen to interact with certain sites in the body for the same reason; presumably, we will now have to deal with the claim that the body was designed to consume arsenic, too." shows just how disingenuous he is being and how far reaching he will go!
His Bible comments are also misguided as it is NOT Mr. Herer alone who poses these queries, perhaps he should consult Green Gold The Tree of Life Marijuana in Magic and Religion by Chris Bennett to start. Again, Scholars have argued this point and not from any English translation as alluded to.
Lastly, it is VERY important that his closing statement is HIS OPINION and not fact! Many scholars provided the research, there are footnotes galore, and 97% of the book is NOT Mr. Herer's OPINION! It is a painstakingly researched compilation of facts and documents in the public record! Before you believe a review that has an obvious agenda, (INCLUDING THIS ONE!) Think for yourself!! Read the book and come to your own conclusion as to whether the Gov't tried to hide "Hemp for Victory", if the govt. tried to hide study after study that they commissioned because of the actual scientific conclusions reached, by dedicated scientists and researchers NOT Mr. Herer!!
Decide for yourself, Think for yourself! We will ALL be better off!!

Summary: The Power of Truth
Review: This book has been an eye opener to me and everyone else I know that has read it. You would be hard pressed to find a more complete source for information relating to the suppression of the hemp industry in the United States then with Mr. Herer's book. While some of the theories advanced by Mr. Herer can not be proven, the nature of the events that follow make his conclusions quite plausible. I highly recommend it.
