Summary: Please read this book !!!!
Review: I enjoyed the Bap Handbook thoroughly, I purchased it Thursday started reading it Friday night and completed Saturday morning. The only time I put this book down was to laugh, because I knew women in all four categories (Betty, Boho, Butterfly, and Bogus). This book is well written and flows with a certain level of curiousity that keeps the reader glued to the book. Ladies you have done a wonderful job and anyone who cannot find humor in this book I feel sorry for which means they are probably in the "Bogus" category.

Summary: I recommend that everyone get this book!
Review: When I read this book I did not except much from this book, because of must of the reviews that I read about it. But I got the book because my sister insisted that I did.... and I have to say that this book is a very good, very funny book and all of the people who wrote the reviews that I read must really be haters! I love this book and recommend that everyone go out and support these four very talented sisters!

Summary: It works for me!
Review: A month ago I wrote a detailed review about this book, but it was never posted. I do not know what the problem was.

I'll tell you straight out that after reading this book, I know that I want to work for a BAP!

E-mail me privately if you want to know what my impressions are on each of the four BAP-types and how I think I'd "fit in" with them.

Thank you.

Summary: Unhip and unoriginal
Review: I just thought it was stupid. Not even clever enough to be tongue-in-cheek,and almost as insipid as "The Rules." I guess I'm a boho BAP myself, so I expected more out of 4 educated, talented sisters. Too bad they've shot their ammo on this one. I eman, what's next, the "BAP guide to Marriage." Ladies, please stop here....

Summary: Killing me softly -- too funny!
Review: I loved this book. It is so funny. I found so much of myself and my girlfriends here. We joke about it much like the authors do in a way that indicates our refusal to be ashamed of it! I have a ton of suggestions for the authors, too on how to make the follow up even funnier! Well, such as do-gooding and husband hunting do not mix; BAP daily necessities for a work day (including a stylish tote bag for the things that do not fit in the stylish hand bag)... I'm recommending this to all my Betty, Butterfly, Boho and Bogus friends.

Summary: It's not even worth 1 star...
Review: I don't think any of us who read this book can do any more than share our views and opinions, because in the end the book still exists and unfortunately many women consider themselves to be exactly what each depressing page described. I keep hearing that it's just comedy and you shouldn't take it so seriously. And I question how this could be true when so many women including myself were literally disgusted by what we read. The problem is that this book under the disguise of a comedy take every stereotype about black women and continue to perpetuate what many continually try to dispel every day. And the worst part about it, is that it's done by our own. Well some of you will never get it and this message is not for you...but to all my sistas who understand how ridiculous and disgraceful this book really is continue to be encouraged by the fact that your beauty, your intelligence, and your worth is far more important than what four pretentious women could ever capture with words.

Summary: Plant your tongue firmly in your cheek and have a great time
Review: People who complain about this book just don't get it and need to lighten up! I thought it was a fun, easy read-- perfect for a day at the beach, or during a long bubble bath. I'm not sure which made me laugh more-- the BAP traits that reminded me of my friends or myself!

Summary: It's all in fun, really.
Review: The critics just don't get it. The book is a lighthearted jab and revelation about the middle and upper income Black American women. The critics also seem to forget that this book is not only a social commentary but a book of humor and parody. Grammatical errors aside (blame the style editor), the book is well-organized, well-written and enjoyable to read. Most women I know who've read and relate to the book see the humor, laugh and move on...

Summary: I'm a BAP and PROUD of it!!!!
Review: Never have I read a book that depicted me better than this one. Ladies you did a wonderful job. As for the above reviews........"Always be 'dem haters!"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Entertaining
Review: A must have for all BAPS, those who want to be, or the curious. It was a refreshing and enjoyable satire. Would make a great Christmas present for girlfriends!
