Rating: Summary: Extremely nice cards! Just a few complaints... Review: These cards are beautiful. For the most part the card meanings are insightful and useful. However there are a few things that I don't like about them. First of all, the artist included an additional non-standard card called "the master" with a picture of "Osho" (some guru guy, now deceased, who started a commune in India.) I'm sorry, but if this guy were "the master" he wouldn't feel the need to make such claims as "I'm the beginning of a new spiritual awareness" and such. Also, there are some silly aspects of the zenlike belief system such as "society wants to enslave you" (so I should do what, quit my job, give all my money to some guru, and join a commune?) that come out in various cards. I do not agree with some of the sayings of "Osho," but in general these are extremely beautiful cards which offer an insightful new perspective. However, if you use this deck I would ignore "the master" card and disregard some of the cultlike beliefs expressed in the book.
Rating: Summary: I thought tarot was for 1-800 junkies... Review: My first experience with tarot cards. I had always thought that they claimed to predict the future, death, etc. My friend read these cards to me, and my jaw was on the floor with amazement. They don't try to predict anything or read a fortune, they just help you to use what you already have (sometimes you didn't even know it was there) to deal with life in a very positive light.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful, gorgeous, beautiful, buy them buy them buy them! Review: If you're looking for a deck, this is IT. If you don't know how to read tarot, don't worry, these cards really seem to read themselves. Intuitive, accurate and relevant to current life, and absolutely beautiful to look at to boot! I wish all tarot cards were this nice looking and easy to use.
Rating: Summary: Artwork that speaks to the soul Review: After i had a few traditional tarot decks, i came across a sample of these cards on an on line tarot sight, immediately, i knew i had to have them. They are without a doubt the most thought provoking beautiful and soulful cards i have ever seen, they carry no morbid premonitions, offer no future divinations, yet when i read for myself i get right to the heart of whatever the issue is. I havent yet figured out how to read for others using this, simply because they give no answers, all cards, all meanings point to an inner working, and they all somehow ask us to open up to love, to the moment and letting go of fear.all in all, the osho zen tarot is lovely and full of hope.
Rating: Summary: wonderful cards Review: My first ever set of Tarot cards and they are great. I have since bought a more traditional deck. The difference: the traditional deck indicates the future, this deck reflects inner states in the here and now. I use the Osho deck everyday for the insight I get into myself. I am learning Zen from the cards. Amazed a set of cards can do that. The art work is beautiful.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful & Contemporary Review: What a wonderful surprise I found when I opened this deck of tarot! Not only is the artwork absolutely beautiful, but the commentary that accompany each card focuses on an internal resolution instead of being directed by an external source. The answers we need are buried inside us and this deck helps to remind us to turn within for our guidance. I found a couple of the commentaries to be a bit vague, so it requires that you put some time and effort into thinking about your situation and how the card applies to you. As a relatively novice tarot reader I feel that I lucked out by choosing this set as my second deck. I doubt I'll ever need another.
Rating: Summary: My Favorite Deck Review: The Osho Cards were the first deck I started to read with and I still refer back to them with 9 out of 10 readings. I tossed the books description and looked at each individual card to decide what I felt the cards meant. It works great. I also appreciate the fact that I can turn a card to my client and show them what the card means. This is real cool when the same cards turn up more than once in a reading! After almost 1000 readings, I am purchasing a new deck and handing the old deck over to my newest student...my sister! Thanks Osho! Psychic Vickiveil
Rating: Summary: Beautiful but very, very subtle Review: I bought this package some-odd years ago as my first Tarot deck and was both delighted and disappointed. The Zen approach to card interpretation makes it very easy to begin readings, but leaves you with only a vague idea of what the combination of cards means. Most people want a hint to help make a decision, not a self-help recommendation. But I agree with the book in that "all answers lie within." Unfortunately, the meanings of many cards are subtle enough that I have to have the book at hand to derive an interpretation and they're all quite large, even for my 'palm-a-basketball' hands, and don't shuffle easily. The artwork is very "transcendental" rather than invoking intense emotions. I'm happy I bought this as my first deck and I use it off and on for issues that bother me, but I'd find a more entertaining deck to give readings with.
Rating: Summary: Holly Review: I recently purchased Osho Zen Tarot cards, each card has its own beauty in it. The cards show in a beautiful way of expressing the inner feelings and the events of today's life. I love the illustrations on each deck of the card, not only does it express the meaning of the card, but everything around it.
Rating: Summary: WOW Review: WORDS CAN NOT EXPRESS THE BEAUTY OF THIS TAROT CARD SET. LET ME REITERATE...WOW!
