Summary: Misleading...
Review: When I ordered this book, I was very excited...thrilled, even. When I opened my package to get the book out, I was sorely disappointed. This book is tiny, I mean absolutely TINY. The description should state that it is a mini book. Won't happen to me again.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: HMMM... DID YOU ALL READ THE BOOK?
Review: AESTHETICS ARE ONE THING... THE BOOK IS SMALL. SO GET OVER IT. WHAT SHOULD BE NOTED INSTEAD IS WHAT'S INSIDE. I CAN'T BELIEVE THE IGNORANT, CLICHED REVIEWS HERE... NO WONDER AMERICA IS CRUMBLING.

Summary: Compact but great.
Review: Both this and Machiavelli's "The Price" are small books but the knowledge in them are priceless.

Sun Tzu has many great points the greatest being "if you do not know how to win, then you can not win." Sun Tzu teaches you to think strategically, how to appraise your advisary, how to apparise the timing and locations of your perspective conflict, and how to appraise yourself.

Sun Tzu is basically telling the reader that conflict can be broken down systematically and that once you learn how to read the conflict you can make decision were you gain the most and lose the least.

Now my beef with that yuppie who wrote "Sun Tzu is a sissy". You sir are a Jackass, Sun Tzu says aviod conflict where you are going to lose, not to aviod all conflict. Of course if you will gain in a conflict you should pursue it, but Sun Tzu does say perpetual conflict is unhealthy, which is true. Perpetual conflict wears you down and eventually you will make a mistake and disappear in the long line of jackasses that never learned this. Just because sucessful people in business are predatory does not mean Sun Tzu was wrong. Those people that heavly invested in the Stock Market right after 9-11 were following Sun Tzu's advice, they seen their advisaries were weak(all the morons leaving), they seen the time was right(fatalistic the world is ending BS in the news), and they acted(got heavly invested in the market). Shortly after that the market rebounded and now they are out with a healthy profit.

Sun Tzu's systematic thinking is the cornerstone of good judgement, just because you read at a public school in Texas's sixth grade level does not mean Sun Tzu is wrong. you are just a bafoon tring to make a quick buck on a catchy name. Ya jackass........

Summary: Screwed!
Review: I expected a book not a pamphlet! Thank God I didnt pay alot or I really would have been Pis$#% Off!

Summary: Yes... it's small
Review: It's small for a reason, it's a pocket book that you can take wherever for instant wisdom. As for everyone being "deceived", it's right there in the product details:

Product Dimensions: 3.0 x 3.6 x 0.6 inches

Even if you werent paying attenting, this may very well be the classic example of judging a book by its cover. Try reading the book and judging its content, not judging it based on size.

Summary: ummm......yeah........What the heck did I buy?
Review: Others are really ticked off, I so astounded that this book was smaller than a pack of smokes that I can do nothing but laugh. This book is that pathetic........The ad was deceptive, the cover was on backward, and the cover was missing half of it's print..........just pathetic. Don't buy this!!!!!!!!

Summary: Little Book?????!!!!!!
Review: Shipping and service were great, however the seller did not specify that this was a little tiny pocket-size book in the description. What a disappointment!

Yeah, I see that there are dimensions in VERY SMALL (just like the book) print down below, but honestly, I expect that I get what I see when ordering online, not having to read the fine print.

This type of purchase is based largely on TRUST!! I can still read a little copy but I still feel TRICKED!

Summary: I've been deceived.
Review: This book fits into the palm of my hand. I feel the seller deceived me in not disclosing this detail in the product description.

Summary: Simple enough for even an Amazon reviewer to understand
Review: This is *the* classic work on military theory and practice. There is no rival so compact and yet complete. It should be required reading and understanding for any member of the armed services and for all Amazon reviewers.

Personally, I prefer the Giles translation (0486425576) but I had to comment here to counter some of the unstudied comments made to date. In the case of Sun Tzu, smaller is better. Other translations are packed with the commentary of people trying to explain what Sun Tzu meant. It is far better to study Sun Tzu and think for yourself first, then see what others had to say. Try not to overanalyze too soon or you will miss the simple yet profound insight of this most brilliant of military thinkers.
