Summary: Exciting and Insightful
Review: This is a good book for those who enjoy adventure travel and want to get an investment education at the same time. It is exciting and he provides the beginner (both geographically and investor savy) with a solid education to the complexities and diversity surrounding today's global environment. Jim Rogers is a very smart man and knows a million times more than I do in terms of investing, but be wary of his "global predictions". If you take his advice to heart you would have missed out on the greatest bull market in U.S. history.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great book filled with real world advice and observations
Review: I found this book very interesting and informative. Jim Rogers has put together a collection of great advice and observations. Not only did I learn an immense amount about the world and its fragile economy, but Jim Rogers wrote it in a way that keeps you intrigue as to what will happen next.

Summary: A Classic
Review: Jim Rogers has done it all and continues marching with a common sense approach. I was in my senior year when a professor required this for reading. Needless to say, Ive read it twice since then. Rogers started the Quantum Fund with George Soros, provides commentary for CNBC and is traveling the world again. In this book he sheds light on the then possible and eventual economic collapse of Asia. This highly reccomended for anyone investing in U.S. or abroad. I place this book next to text by Peter Lynch and Ben Graham. Happy investing.

Summary: An excellent starter book on world economics
Review: I read Investment Biker at the same time I started subscribing to The Economist and the Financial Times. I have a better confidence about our global economy after reading this book then in a month of reading the two newspapers combined. I almost put the book away after the first 50 to 65 pages myself. Early on Jim Rogers focuses too much on the indecision of his twenty-something traveling companion, Tabetha. He moderates this and falls into a compelling rythum of his experiences, impressions and advice.

Summary: required reading gepgraphy & economics
Review: I wished Jim had written this book while I was in high school. It's a great story about geography and world economics. Some of the countries names may change over time but the economic commonsense will remain. I'm looking forward to his new one in the millinium. Meanwhile my 13 year old son is reading it.

Summary: Great book
Review: I thought the insights in this book were great. I've always wondered why certain countries were so poor, while other countries - right next door- were rich. This book both helps explain that and tells an interesting adventure story as well. While some people might not like the economic/financial glasses through which Rodgers views the world - I think it provides a much more unique and informative narrative than merely a description of the local flora and fauna.

One downside, the title is pretty cheesy.

Summary: Interesting travel but pretty out of date for 1998
Review: Positive aspects: The adventure part of this book was great. I loved reading about crossing borders, bribing cops, enduring hail and snow, traversing deserts and jungles, visiting stock markets and banks, dining and dancing, crashing and fixing bikes, and Jim's good historical narratives. Originally interested in his investment tips, I really enjoyed the traveling experience he portrayed. Negative aspects: Jim's cockiness is pretty hard to take at times. I felt like I was an unwilling student in a college course called "The Way It Is by Jim Rogers." All in all, it's a good adventure book if you can overlook Jim's ego. I give it a 7 out of 10.

Summary: Travelling economics
Review: If you made money like Jim Rogers and then step out of it all to travel the world and share this experience with your readers, all we can say is then buy the book and read about tomorrows winners in the stock-market

Summary: Great book!
Review: This just a great book.Period. Have read it twice. I keep wondering when his second book will (if ever) come out. I would recommend it to anyone, anywhere, anytime. If you like exciting travel stories and great investment advise and insight- this is THE book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The book is interesting and educational
Review: Not everyone will agree with Jimm's view of the world, but smart people will. The book is excellent.
