Summary: excellent facts, contradictions in some places
Review: mr. williams correctly describes the physical prowess of the ethiopians against arab invaders ~630s.so if the ethiopians / africans are militarily and physically stronger than arabs (africans are physically the strongest people on earth - see mahdi of sudan and his followers fight imperialist invaders), then how could physically weaker and militarily incompetent people like the arabs have enslaved the physically stronger africans ??? arabs cannot even fight without resorting to hiring mercernaries from europe and america. see gulf war. although the book is good, it is these kind of contradictions that spoil it.

Summary: New dark age
Review: Reading the book and the comments I felt a thrill running on my back. I felt for a moment that we are living in a new dark age! You are so far from the truth which makes me to wonder how and what I must explain at first. To write someone something like that (mostly the comments) must be very uncultivated and of course fanatic. - A large part of the vocabulary west people is using comes direct or indirect from the Greek language! - The mathematics you are using is based on Archimedes and Pythagoras math's. - Philosophy is a Greek word and invented here in Greece! Why Egyptians and others didn't make philosophy? No one of them bothered as in contrast happened to Greeks! (Read about Persian wars). - Lately proved (hopefully) that no HinduEuropean civilization exist, because no evidence of that civilization found ever! - Democracy, the constitution you enjoy now is invented in Greece! ...and you wonder who's civilization is first and other waffles! Of course ancient Greeks borrowed some loosely information and ideas from the around the Mediterranean Sea people. But their civilization was in such a level as to have the ability to filter and elevate to the point (they were already cultured) to make philosophy. (Read the Perikleous Golden age!). Even Romans said: "We conquer Greeks by force, but Greeks conquer us by their spirit". There are a lot of books in Amazon and in your libraries where you can read and illuminating!

Review: Strong topic! All one really has to do to read about Black History is to read the Bible. A key is Genesis 10 and 11. Check it out. Rememeber the only Europeans were the Japhites.

Summary: You Must Read This
Review: The average reader of this book always misconstrues it's purpose. The purpose of this book is not to be descriptive, but prescriptive. In other words, The Destruction is not meant to serve solely as a history book. The book's purpose is to provide Afrikan people with an historical background into Afrikan-specific problems of the past, while at the same time, giving viable solutions to what Afrikan people should do to solve the same, lingering problems that slavery, colonialism, and neo-colonialism are very definitely at the root of. One of Mr. Williams' most brilliant observances is the politcal role that Arabs and Islam have played in and among Afrikan people. He cogently and correctly exposes how Afrika and her people have been historically duped and demeaned, not only by Europeans [Chrisitans] and Asians, but by Arabs also. This one issue has been the most talked about, but the least understood. To extract the true essence and point of book one need but look at its subtitle - "Great Issues of a Race from 4500 B.C. to 2000 A.D." That says it all right there. Chancellor Williams, visionary that he was, knew that by the start of the new millenium, Afrikan people would be suffering the same problems that Afrikan people of 4500 B.C. suffered unless . . . we took a step back and gave a critical, crucial, and correct analysis of the problems that confront us. At the end of the book, Williams offers what he refers to as "The Master Plan"; to give Afrikan people a blueprint toward true power and an understanding of who they are and who they still have to be in this world. An most excellent read that prompts you to move from theory to practice!!

Summary: Excellent facts, wrong conclusion
Review: the book is excellent for revealing facts that are not otherwise present in the mainstream. as with many others books about the brutal invasion, slavery and colonisation of africa, mr. williams fails to give an adequate explanation as to WHY these events occurred and who is the actually ORGANISER of these events. the persian, european, white, aryan invaders are mere slaves / puppets of the african organiser.

Review: The most important and decisive points in Williams book is contained in the last few chapters on African Constitutionalism. This should be the beginning point for all serious black nationalist who wish to advance the race. All in all, Destruction of Black Civilization informs us to unite or perish. Black Revolution is the only Solution !!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: One of the best books on Black History!
Review: This book by the late Chancellor Williams shows how Africa was reduced into the current state it is presently in. This is done in the examination of Egypt and 9 other African Kingdoms. It documents the negative effect Asian and European imperialism had on Africa. In addition, it gives insight on native African institutions. Further, it shows how Christianity, Judaism and Islam have helped and hurt pre-colonial Africa.It answers the hard questions about African History. It is also a challenge. It challenges the readers to improve the state of the African Race and help it recover its lost glory.

OF COURSE MANY PEOPLE WILL NOT EVEN READ THE BOOK BECAUSE IT FAILS TO ACCOMODATE THEIR POINT OF VIEW OF THEIR RACE BEING SUPERIOR AND THE CREATORS OF EVERYTHING THAT IS OF GREAT THOUGHT AND IMPORTANCE. CHANCELLOR WILLIAMS DELT WITH MANY OF THE CONTRADICTIONS AND REASONS WHY MANY EUROCENTRIC SCHOLARS WILL ONLY USE IMFORMATION THAT PROJECTS THEIR RACIST POINT OF VIEW. Summary: Destruction of Black Civilization: Great Issues of a Race
Review: This book deserves to be read by every student before high school graduation as a very basic intro to African World History and Culture. I was astounded by the abundance of information that proves the intellectual bases for high African civilizations. This is also an excellent reference book and it is excellent reading!!!

Summary: The first Black History Book you should read
Review: This book does what many "Black" history books do not which is to show what happened to us. Like other history books the author goes to great lengths to show how great we were in antiqutiy, but he also details exactly what mistakes we made time and time again. He details thouroughly our downfall from our being to trusting of Whites to not taking the time to make sure our history stayed intact. He shows how weather played a part in our downfall as well as religions that did not originate with us. This book should set the perspective upon which to view all historical information regarding Blacks.
