Summary: A great guide to help re-buff the Arab/liberal propagandists
Review: This is one of the best books written on the Arab-Israeli conflict. Bard exposes the PA true character- corrupt and still fighting for the destruction of Israel. For example, why was the PA created BEFORE Israel won the "West Bank" and not when it had been under control of Jordan? Becasue Arafat and the PA have and always will be intent on killing all the Jews in Israel or Palestine or whatever you want to call. Furthermore, who are the "Palestinians"? Most people don't know that "Palestine" is simply the ROMAN name for ISRAEL! The Arabs stole that name and created a people! This book is a great tool for any supporter of Israel to combat the vicious anti-Semitism masked as anti-Zionism throughout the world, especially in the media (including the American media).

Summary: Using facts to dispel myths in the Arab - Israeli conflict
Review: This work can be of great help to those who are instinctively pro- Israeli and need information and solid fact to bolster their case to others. But I believe it also can be of help to those who are striving to simply get a better picture of the complicated Middle East situation. There are certain myths (For instance that there was a Palestinian Arab state in the West Bank ( Judaea and Samaria) which the Jews came and occupied, which are so commonplace that they are the cliches of the media today. This work thus works to counter the kind of Arab propaganda which unfortunately has become more prevalent on US campuses, and in Arab- funded Middle East Studies departments. The basic truth that the Arab - Israeli conflict stems from the Arabs refusal to accept an independent Jewish presence in the Middle East, that through sixty years offers of peace have been refused by the Arab side is backed here with solid evidence.
This book should be on the table of every newsman or politician who has anything to do with the Middle East situation today.

Summary: catch up on stuff
Review: Un like most contemporary books on the Israeli-Arab conflict this book keeps you safe and sound from Propaganda, Biases and Misinformation so common in our days of past sep 11. I had a chance to read this book and catch up on stuff.

Summary: Organized and Informed
Review: Unlike the days of WWII, we have resources like "Myths and Facts: A Guide to the Arab-Israeli Conflict." Mitchell Geoffrey Bard brings us a well-organized, concise yet intelligent review and explanation of the complex issues surrounding what is happening in the Mideast.

Journalists, clergy of all points of view, military people, pacifists and human rights people all would do well to know what Bard is teaching. Politicians too.

Summing up the conflict to mere politics, or simple economics would be foolish, as would solely blaming this side or that. The religious aspect in the matter is strong from all sides. Each side, naturally, has a viewpoint, and these viewpoints many individuals are willing to die for. Why? Bard sorts it out.

It is a bit academic, and the faint of mind might want to steer clear, but, at the same time, Bard keeps it as well-said as possible. It is a difficult topic, and in just a few hundred pages he puts into perspective what has taken hundreds of years... thousands, in the case of Israel, to unravel. A lot of malarkey is out there, built on propaganda, misinformation, prejudice and lack of research, but Bard brings it together, and helps the reader know the truth from the hooey.

This is hardly the last word on the Arab-Israeli conflict, but it is a very rich start. I fully recommend, "Myths and Facts: A Guide to the Arab-Israeli Conflict."
