Rating: Summary: A Message From the Authors Review: "80 Greatest Conspiracies of All Time" is the largest, most expanded update of our book thus far. We've added ten extremely detailed chapters covering a welter of late-breaking and classic conspiracy theories not featured in our previous editions. That's almost 200 pages of new material, including:-- 911 -- Anthrax -- Votescam 2000 -- Enron -- The Philadelphia Experiment -- The Zodiac Killer(s) -- Echelon, the global spying network -- The CIA, LSD and the mysterious death of Frank Olson
Rating: Summary: Informative, Interesting, Revealing & Humorous. A Must Have! Review: "All conspiracy theory enthusiasts are liars" - The Woj, a conspiracy theory enthusiast. Ponder on that and then add this wonderful book to your cart now. It's an extremely enjoyable, fast pace read that will alter you're perception on a whole "lotta stuff"; "stuff" you're high school history book never told you. If it doesn't change the way you view the world around you, I predict the following: you're going to vote for Bush in November and you have more than one American Flag sticker (along with a few #3's) on your truck. But for anyone purchasing this book (and also clicking on the "yes" button for this review) be forewarned! Read this book and Robert Anton Wilson may follow!

Rating: Summary: good Review: I admit that I always like reading up on these things. I really liked the lsd suicide section that was talked about in the end of the book, I also liked when they talked about 9/11 theories (nice to see them condemn the theories), also I liked how they talked about the voting issue in the 2000 election. overall a great book for conspiracy buffs. the only thing wrong with it was the references to the show "The X Files," the show been cancelled for a long time lose the references, also they talked about the alien autopsy, although the said that is probably fake it has been recently proven fake, lose the chapter. Also I would like it if they updated more sections of the book. In the end this is a great book to read if you like reading this sort of thing.

Rating: Summary: 80 Greatest Consipiracies Of All Time Review: I had the misfortune of buying this book since I wanted a chuckle to see what the "authors" decide is a consipiracy. Not only did I get a good laugh at this poorly written rehash of OTHER peoples work, their overt view that there are only kooks, oddballs are right wing conspiracies afoot in the world. The US Federal Government is never a conspiracist and NEVER EVER misrepesents or lies about anything. If one President expands government, that is OK, but if another wishes to reduce government (no matter how little) that becomes a right wing conspiracy. This book is a TOTAL waste of time and money. Buy something (anything) else. I had to rank this as a 1 star, my actual preference is about a -3 or -4. Dont waste your money on this tired rehash of left wing is good right wing is bad gibberish.
Rating: Summary: funny, funny wingnuts! Review: I love to read the whiny babbling of the wingnuts who see "leftist bias" in everything. I guess anyone who is slightly to the left of J. Edgar Hoover or Joe McCarthy is a gosh-darn commie and/or terrorist.
Perhaps if Republicans didn't engage in so much illegal, unethical, un-American activity on behalf of fascism, they wouldn't take up so much space in a book like this. The wingnut concept of "fair and balanced" is a bit like someone saying, "Enough about Ted Bundy's serial murdering - let's talk about how charming he was."
At any rate, I LOVED "60 Greatest Conspiracies..." etc., and now that they're up to 80, I guess it's time for an update. And at the rate that lil' Georgie Bush is going, I'm sure there will be enough material for "90..." in a year or two.
Rating: Summary: The best overview of the conspiracy mindset out there Review: I started reading this book back when it was only 50 conspiracy theories and a 4 second appearance on The X Files pretty much sold out the first printing in 3 days. The authors do a wonderful job of sorting through the wild eyed, feverish conspiracy writings and crafting excellent, detailed, knowledgeable overviews. They clearly approach each topic with a healthy degree of skepticism and humor. I mean some of these ideas are so freaky if you don't have a sense of humor, you'd want to beat some of these conspiracy idiots with a hardbound copy of the Illuminatus! trilogy. But they never let their skepticism get in the way of a good story, shall we say.
I heartily recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: A CONSPIRACY BIBLE! Review: If you have the most tepid of intrests in conspiracies, cover-ups , cabals or unexplainable phenomenom this book is for you! It's relatively inexpensive considering its bulk of information and the arduous tasks that must have been endured in order to get this book published. It documents everything from the mysterious death of Princess Diana to the CIA's test program, the lunar landing hoaxes and myrid government side projects that they wouldn't want you to know about. This book is the A-Z of every formidable conspiracy theory in exsistence and is well worth a look, even if only to increase your general knowledge of historical events and look from different perspectives at events. Unlike the tacky, childish writing style employed by most conspiracy writers, Vankin and Whalen look even-handedly at each event in a chronological and easy-to-understand order whilst detailing all the relevant facts and including their own personal sceptisism of information or conspiracies in a mature style. I give my two thumbs up to this amazing book!
