Review: They should rename this "Spanish for people who are in no hurry to learn Spanish" because of the phone book sized book there are maybe 20 pages worth of useful information. The author rambles on about things that are of little or no relevance to learning the language and it seems all too obvious that she is just trying to "fill space". There are also numerous typos that are grave enough to get in the way of the learning process

Summary: Spanish for Physicians, Patients and Everyone
Review: This book 'Spanish for Dummies' is a joy to read. The author stresses learning at your own speed. I am learning Spanish so that I can converse with my ever-increasing population of Spanish-speaking patients. It really makes a difference. I see lots of smiles when I struggle to get the accent correct. The book comes with a CD that is invaluable for pronunciation. Have Fun!

Summary: Spanish for Dummies - A good refresher for previous students
Review: This is an excellent book, very user friendly. It does a good job explaining things in an easily understood manner. It is loaded with dialogs and is interesting. The written part is the best of the 5 or 6 Spanish books I have purchased.
The CD, on the other hand, is a bit of a disappointment as it is only in Spanish. It doesn't help me much until I have memorized all the dialog and know what they are saying. I have a Spanish speaking girlfriend. She and I are now recording the dialogs ourselves, so I give a line in Engish, then she repeats it in Spanish. Then she and I both listen to the tapes. We both think the written dialogs from the book are excellent, but the tapes are only helpful once it has both languages.
