Rating: Summary: Conservative Lies About the So-Called "Liberal Media" Review: Like the majority of reasonable Americans, I am neither "liberal" nor "conservative". Finishing this book, I am thankful for that.Upon completion, I realized that this book was a propaganda campaign for Coulter's shrill, smug, elitist, lopsided, and hypocritical views, with no capacity for thinking with both sides of the brain, and possessing the intellectual density of mayonnaise. She apparently believes that the person with the biggest mouth and most obnoxious ad hominem attacks automatically wins the argument. Where have we seen this behavior before? The book promotes "Ann Coulter", and that is all. There are no thoughtful essays, here. No interesting ruminations or insightful perceptions on the nuances of life. It has No ideas. It is full of dead pages. Conservatives will love it. Liberals will hate it. And the rest of us will continue to go about our lives wondering if there are any reasonably intelligent political pundits left in the arena who are worth listening to.
Rating: Summary: The Obvious Truth Review: This book only points out the obvious slant of the major newspapers and network news stations. Any one who tries to deny this slant is either clueless or liberal. Ann just points out the obvious in an orderly and entertaining fashion. A fun read. I'm not sure why some reviewers got so upset.
Rating: Summary: The biased reviews prove she is correct Review: ...It's clear with all these name calling liberals who attack Coulter's looks, her hair and call her a Tele-Bimbo that she was 100% correct on how the left resorts to name calling since they can't hold a debate on issues and name calling and labels are the only way a liberal can "debate." ...This is exactly what makes Coulter's book so damn good! She shows that liberals ignore truth and resort to whatever would get them an upper hand even when it's a bunch of lies. She also includes a bunch of stupid quotes from Clinton and other liberals that you would never find on the mainstream media who would show it in a second if it was Bush. I challenge the liberals to actually read the book if they dare..they won't since all they do is blindly follow the party line!
Rating: Summary: A stunning and brilliant book! Review: Every conservative, moderate or other non-liberal KNOWS that the media doesn't portray their views fairly. We've never been able to put our finger on exactly how they do this because they are very good at turning the arguement around. (In fact the media is conservative, just look at Fox and the WSJ!!) Ann, finally, FINALLY!!! lifts the liberal's rock and exposes the slime underneath. It is amazingly documented an amazingly thorough... Every non-liberal should read this and every liberal too just to have a good long look in the mirror.
Rating: Summary: A must read for the LEFT!!!! Review: Most people in the Democratic Party and those in the left have no idea how tained the media is showing only their viewpiont and distorts the conservative side. Whether you're a liberal or conservative, you ought to support an unbiased media!!!! Ann points out that over 90% of the Washington bureau chiefs voted for Clinton in the last election, which is far greater than the Registered Democrat population, if that doesn't show liberal bias in the media, I am not sure what will. This book displays not only her viewpoints but also her witty personality! Most liberals are offended by her and this book because it shows them what their party leaders are doing to themselves -- how the left are using the poor as their weapon to attack conservatives, by throwing out meaningless "tax cuts for ONLY the poor" and flaunts their superior monetary power from the liberal left by telling people that they LOVE paying taxes, because they can afford it. The all "inclusive" party has been torn to threads by Ms. Coulter. She may look cute on the cover, but she has that rare passion and fire inside of her that would, as she puts it, "make the strong men cringe and weak men who became Democrats".
Rating: Summary: Can you spell f-o-o-t-n-o-t-e-s, children? Review: No wonder liberals -- even those who've actually read Coulter's book before "reviewing" it -- are fulminating. Coulter has documented her case assiduously; the footnotes number 36 pages. Even singular adjectives and short phrases that liberals have used to demonize conservatives come complete with attribution, much of it damningly and directly from the left's Holy Writ: New York Times, Washington Post, Newsweek, NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, et al. For instance, take the case of libidinous liberal Republican Bob Packwood. Coulter supplies numerous examples of the effusive praise with which the left, feminists included, fawned over him when he was useful to them as a reliable pro-abortion vote in Congress. When Bill Clinton was elected and liberals no longer needed Packwood's finger in the abortion-on-demand dike, they excoriated his lecheries with self-righteous fury. The pages Coulter devotes to Packwood are replete with footnoted before-and-after rhetoric of the media and liberal organizations. Exposing the left's First Amendment hypocrisy in the "Samizdat Media" chapter, Coulter hits (P. J.) O'Rourkean and (Ambrose) Biercean heights with her mordant commentary. The New York Times, to whom nude dancing and all-age access to pornography are cornerstones of First Amendment freedom, suffers the pangs of the damned when it regards the uncensored Internet. Can't give our citizenry unfettered access to the likes of Matt Drudge, you know. If you can handle an unerringly accurate chronicling of the left's mindset and modus operandi, read the book.
Rating: Summary: Well Worth Reading Review: Any person who reads this book with an open mind will find that Ms. Coulter has pulled the shade up and let the sunshine on liberal attempts at brainwashing. Regardless of what you may say about how Ms. Coulter says what she says, if you don't get into name calling but think and look at facts, you can't come to any other conclusion but that she is correct. One perfect example of the bias she points out is the election night coverage of the major networks immediately calling States for Gore after the polls closed and waiting hours before calling States for Bush. She outlines many, many other such examples. This is an excellent book. But don't take my word for it, read it yourself.
Rating: Summary: An Appendix of Liberalism Review: Following on the heels of Good Cop Bernard Goldberg's Bias comes Bad Cop Ann Coulter's Slander. The book is a heavily footnoted accounting of the things liberals say about conservatives in the media. If you have doubts as to the bias in the media, pick up this book. The evidence is overwhelming.
Rating: Summary: Nothing but the truth Review: This is a great book. Depite what the liberal's slanted (typical) review of this book may be, it is the way matters are in America today. It was the "political right", not the liberals, which created this country and made it GREAT. The path which the liberal's (pronounced: socialist) have taken America down in the last 100 years has been one of moral decay and economic decline. It is plain to see if one has eyes their eyes open and also remembers our HISTORY. One quote which describes it well is "The American culture is journeying through muck and smut, looking for lower ground, not of necessity but of depravity. Unless we change our course, and soon, our destination is either moral anarchy and social chaos, or the surrender of all our freedoms to Big Brother in exchange for his promise to protect us from ourselves." --Linda Bowles Ann H. Coulter calls the as she sees them. Buy this book and check it out for yourself.
Rating: Summary: Her point is proved by looking at the other reviews. Review: Did the other reviewers on Amazon.com actually read the book? It isn't William Faulkner, but it really is a good book that is well documented. Being a media (especially newspaper) junkie, I was happy to see someone put into print the things I've noticed that big media has been doing for several years. The other reviewers seem to resort to name calling, belittlement, and, well, slander, instead of giving an objective analysis of Ms Coulters book.
