Rating: Summary: Needs More Review: I agree with other reviewers. I took the test, using this book alone, and missed passing by 1 point. There were several items not covered in the book that were on the test.
Rating: Summary: Not Quite Good Enough Review: I agree with other reviewers. I took the test, using this book alone, and missed passing by 1 point. There were several items not covered in the book that were on the test.
Rating: Summary: Be Extremely Careful Review: I agree with the review of the person in San Jose, but the standards for passing my test were higher. I needed to score 500 or higher (they've also changed the way the test is scored, this would be equivalent to a 50 now). If that's the case for you, I highly recommend the Priceton review "Cracking the CLEP", and I'd also recommend you add a third review book. I sincerely feel that if I'd relied only on the Comex book, I would have failed the exam. Also, make use of the free guide available from CLEP. It has 50 test questions (much harder) that will give you a more accurate gauge of how you're doing. Until you can get at least 1/2 of those questions right, don't take the test!

Rating: Summary: I passed the exam....barely Review: I have to give this book a high rating because I did pass using only this book... I got a 420 which is the ace recommened score. Also, I only studied about a week before I had to take the test. I'm not great at science, so I figured what the heck. If I don't pass, I'll just take some dantes tests. Fortunately, it worked out. If a high score is imporant, I would also buy the Princeton Review book also(It also might help to study more than a week) Princeton Review tells you EXACTLY what you need to study for. Good Luck!
Rating: Summary: Good Review, but not useful alone Review: I read this book from cover to cover - twice - and did well on my second try of the practice exam. I felt pretty good about the knowledge I had learned. However, this did NOT prepare me for the CLEP Exam in Natural Sciences. The questions were much broader than what is covered in this book. I suggest that this book definitely be used as a beginning to study for the exam, and then add other resource materials, including biology text books, chemistry, and physics. It will take much more than just this book to pass the exam.

Rating: Summary: Needs More Review: I took the CLEP using only this book as a study guide, figuring because I have a medical and biology background I would be fine. I passed, but I did not do as well as I thought I would, and there were a lot of questions on the exam that were not covered in the study guide. Also, all the Comex books need to be updated. They all present the test in it's old form. I would not recommend using this book alone to someone who has no or limited science backgound.
Rating: Summary: Dont buy this book! Review: This book gives you a basic overview of Natural Sciences. I studied this book thoroughly and also spent a lot of time studying Peterson's CLEP Practice Tests. These got me a 66 on this test. I recommend at least one other resource.
