Rating: Summary: Gotta Have It! Review: This book is a must have for any beginner to the sport of motorcycling. It is packed not only with basic riding and handling issues unique to motorcycles, but helps readers determine the type of riding that suits them the best. It also contains a large section on currently available motorcycles produced by major motorcycle companies, along with base prices and suitability for beginners. I have purchased many books on this subject and still refer the most often to this one for basic information. Not only is it full of information, but the author delivers it with humorous stories. It is definately not dry technical reading. Another feature I enjoyed was the lists of organizations, magazines and other books in the back. If this book doesn't have what your interested in, it will steer you to the information.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining and Informative Review: This book is a must. It covers history, engine types, cycle types, safety, repairs and includes a buying guide and tips on purchasing.
Rating: Summary: A great book to get you started... Review: This book is an entirely useful and practical guide to getting started in the world of motorcycles. It is full of relevant information including topics such as motorcycling history, chosing your first bike, safety, routine maintenance, etc. It's an all-around solid resource for those who have the "itch."
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Introduction to Motorcycling Review: This is a great overview of motorcycling and motorcycles for an interested novice or a person thinking about buying a bike. It covers a wide variety of topics-history, basic riding technique, types of bikes, clubs, clothing, etc-in an engaging and easy to read format. Overall, it would be hard to read this book and not understand more about motorcyling than 80% of the people out there. And it was a fun read. Particularly for a newbie, it would be hard to find a better basic book on motorcycles and motorcycling.
