Rating: Summary: Interesting Stories Review: Great book, I have not read the NY columns, great way to catch up on 15 years of the mob.
Rating: Summary: BADA BING Review: It reads like Shakespeare with marinara sauce. Better than a Sopranos episode and more filling than a dinner at Umbertos. I just love to read the real life soap opera that is today's mob. A++++ Jerry. You really know these goombas and all their foibles. I loved this book and the pictures along with it. A must read for all mob fans.

Rating: Summary: Tales of the Real Life Sopranos Review: New York City has always been notorious as one of the capitals of Organized Crime (Chicago is the other). And those of us who follow the doings of the Mob have been fortunate over the years to read Jerry Capeci's "Gangland" columns in the New York Daily News. Capeci encapulated the doings of the Five Families each week in a column written with a panache and style rarely seen these days. His column was so incisive that John Gotti reputedly considered issuing a contract on him. Those who were not fortunate enough to read Capeci's columns when they originally ran can now rejoice with the publication of "Jerry Capeci's Gangland," a compilation of his columns over the years. This is more than just plain good writing; it is living history, a chronicle of the times when infighting coincided with RICO indictments to diminish the power and glory of New York's Five Families. Compelling from beginning to end, this is a book any interested reader should have on his or her shelf.
Rating: Summary: A waste of money Review: Nothing more than the Gang Land columns, with photographs. All available for free on the web. C'mon Jerry, you can do better than that!
Rating: Summary: it's about time... Review: that this collection was assembled. the one thing i'm wondering is how jerry could even choose the best of... but this is definitely worth the wait. plus, with its striking design and unique size this book is a perfect gift for a mob aficionado or any reader who appreciates the art of journalism. jerry knows his craft well!
Rating: Summary: Fun and fascinating Review: This is a well written journey through all the TRUE CRIME we love reading about in novels and watching on TV or at the movies. Capeci's construction of episodes is solid and gives them a gritty realism that really brings them alive.
