Summary: A New Generation of Kinky Non-Fiction
Review: Leave it to Midori and Greenery Press to break new ground in the arena of instructional BDSM Literature. This book is beautiful, easy to follow, and leaves you with an urge to run out to stock up on rope. Though it is no substitute for one-on-one training in this ancient art, it is a responsible medium to get the knowledge to those who have no way of receiving such training. Further, for those who have been doing "this sort of thing" for a while, it is an inspiring refresher.

If you have seen Fetish Diva Midori in person, you can almost hear her sultry voice explain each step clearly and concisely. The instructional illustrations are almost animated from the page. Such love seems to have gone into this book that it takes on a life of its own.

Another thing to note about this book is that it uses REAL looking models of different age, size, gender and heritage. Variety of body type is often lacking in fetish photography books, so I was overjoyed to see a full figured woman beautifully bound in this book.

I greatly look forward to future work from Midori. As she mentions in her introduction, if this book is well received she may consider a more advanced book. Speaking only for myself, not only has it been received well, it has whetted my appetite for more.

Summary: Beautiful and Captivating
Review: Midori's book covers the aesthetics of rope bondage as a living dynamic art for enhancing the beauty the soul sees or sheds. The book also covers the pragmatics of caring for rope and noteworthy things to pay attention to as well as signals to watch for in caring for the bottom during rope play.
The sketches are beautiful in their simplicity. The photography by Craig Morey is stunning in part because of the variety of body type but also because of the variety of emotions being expressed in the faces of the bound. The faces reveal people all at different stages of their own inner journey during the bondage experience.
The history section is complete enough to compliment the book and satisfy historical curiosity without leaving the reader thinking they have stumbled into a master's thesis or doctoral dissertation.

Summary: A nice book if you have never done this before.
Review: Midori, the self proclaimed "Fetish Diva",has done a nice introduction explaining the aesthetics and brief history of Japanese style rope bondage. She goes on to describe a scene and analyize it, which was a little too long for me.
The technique section was well done illustrating the various ties. Midori definitly has her own style. Cudos for showing male as well as female bondage. I did find the ties chosen to be very simplistic which is good for newbies but nothing new for those who have done this style of bondage before.
I was dasappointed in this book with the limited number of different ties and lack of comlexity. I just expected more from Midori.

Summary: Oh Honey, Its Fabulous
Review: Mmmm what a delicous book. I keep it next to my bed, if you know what I mean. Both sexy, and informative, this book is a must for your erotic collection. The photographs are beautiful, and the models cover a large range of body types. It was quite refreshing to see a hot Butch woman as a model and the "nurse" photo certainly got my attention. The illistrations are easy to follow, and the combination of the step by step instruction allowes anyone the ability to efortlessly tie up their honey.

Summary: Where Art Begins
Review: Similar to the eternal ontological question of which comes first, a chicken or an egg, I believe it can be asked WHERE ART BEGINS and WHAT MAKES SEDUCTION SO? Does it start with a picture one looks at or a desire one imagines. This book is a good, GREAT starting point if you have someone you want to tie up or are willing to let someone you trust practice tying you up.
It may have only 7 full page color photographs but it has 87 drawings. I had the pleasure once of asking Midori about the drawings and she said each of the drawings were created from photographs. Now I could be wrong about the number of drawings, I just did a quick count, and I could be wrong about what I thought Midori said about how the drawings were created. Yet still this book has some 80-plus drawings because the emphasis is for people to use it as a hands on GET INTO BONDAGE BOOK. In that I believe it succeeds and as such I believe it is ART and the SEDUCTION is for those at home using the book.

Summary: awesome book - easy to follow instructions
Review: The book is awesome. There are some great pictures to introduce a scene, and then easy to follow step by step instructions that left me each time suprised to how easy it was to make such delicate works with ropes.

My colleague found some bondage marks on my neck the next day. I acted really surprised ;-)

Lot's of fun!

Summary: captures the spirit of the subject
Review: This book is great. Midori honors the spirit and sensuality as she explains the mechanics. Plenty of illustrations make each step easy to understand. I like the information on the history of japanese bondage, and the chapter on sensuality and "scene". This is very keeping with the true spirit of japanese rope work. Midori has included everything you need to know to begin your own explorations. This is a large, well produced book that you could easily see on a coffee table, so to speak. My only critique was the lack of more photos of real models- there are very few and many of them are male. Other than that, and in spite of it, I can wholeheartedly recommend this fine work.

Summary: Excellent guide!
Review: This guide is clear, well-written and beautifully illustrated. I am only giving it four stars instead of five because I felt it should have had some more eloborate/advanced designs, and because the diagrams are OCCASIONALY a little hard to follow the first time- other than those small complaints, I find this book to be excellent and would reccomend it to anyone interestd in Japanese Bondage.
