Summary: Intellectuals can not explain it....
Review: It's hard to write a book about a controversal subject like Reality TV. Reality TV is what it is, although it's hard to understand why so-called rational people would appear on Survivor/Fear Factor/Big Brother shows and go through eating worms, staying on an island, hanging high in the air with one foot over a 900 foot gorge, and who knows what other stupid/life threatening things these shows come up with just to win money or short lived fame. It's really a sick side of television that has taken hold of our media culture. Both the Commercial and Cable Networks have thrown away any credibility they had left and are making these shows or covering these shows with press just for the rateings. It's disguisting. They should all be thrown into the Looney ward and treated by shrinks. If we want to self-destruct on the moral/ethical level, this is the way to that toilet.
