Summary: Good read...
Review: I found this book to be a good read and well researched... Although I think a book called "War on Freedom" was much more comprehensive - but follows the same theme...

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Get Real
Review: If one is going to indict the Bush administration, and fail to mention how 'deep' such a plot would reach (ala the prior administration US) historically, the person would be remiss. Marrs has written interesting work in the past, but has become more of a tabloid journalist in recent years. In a supposed police state, how was this book published??? That belies his opening statement, among others. As for 9-11, there needs to be more investigation, for certain. Perhaps the event could have been prevented. This book, however, does not definitely say how.

Added later: I read a recent UFO conference at which Marrs spoke. He stated most Americans were as informed as "this bottle of water." I suggest, if this is the case, how is it I disagree with Marrs after having read Alien Agenda, this 9-11 expose', and the Rule by Secrecy book? I am still as informed as "this bottle of water," but have read his work. I love Marrs, but he's deteriorating as a researcher and emerging more as a conspiracy profiteer. I watched Secrets of Redgate, which further makes me believe this. From the misspellings on the filmscreen to the fact that no photographic evidence has ever been flmed in Montana (why not interview the doctor who owns the house were the craft routinely landed??).. it simply reeks to me. Very disappointing, much like this Inside ____Job book. Alien Agenda is great, as is Crossfire, but it's downhill from there.

We need further investigations into 9-11, but with far less partisanship. People seem to forget the World Trade Center was bombed in 1993.

Summary: Well-documented analysis of the 9-11 events
Review: Jim Marrs is a veteran journalist who isn't afraid to examine topics that are suppressed by institutions of power. In this book, Jim joins the growing number of authors who have challenged the official tale of the events of September 11, 2001, making the case that the evidence points to the attacks being an inside job. The motives, methods, and plans are all presented for the reader, incriminating those in power in the USA. Nearly 3 years after the attacks, Jim Marrs has collected much information [most of which can be quickly found on the Internet on websites of the many independent researchers of 9-11 and related shadowy activities]. One would have to create a very bizarre and improbable conspiracy theory to attempt to deny the main assertion Marrs presents in this book. Jim Marrs deserves credit for collecting the available research and presenting it coherently for the public to examine. Marrs book has garnered the praise of persons such as John "Men Are From Mars" Gray and Catherine Austin Fitts, the whistleblower who has been a victim of those who she once served as assistant housing secretary in the Bush Sr. Administration. Hopefully, more public figures will soon begin to acknowledge the criminal nature of our leaders and encourage the public to reclaim control over the country from the existing power structure. Until then, enjoy books like this one and let the mainstream media folks know that they are merely acting as press-titutes when they spout "official" tales rather than reporting what really happened.

Summary: Use YOUR noggin, not someone else's noggin.
Review: Listen. Right up front, I will announce that I've read only the first 20 pages of this book (hence the 3 stars--can't totally flunk a book I haven't fully read). Those 20 pages, plus the back cover and promo material, are filled with so many inaccuracies and exaggerations that I can't bring myself to read the rest. Here's what I've seen in my brief review of this book:

1) Mr Marrs' summary of 9/11 events is laughable once you've read the 9/11 Commission Report. I'll just point out one absolutely false statement by Marrs: "Moments after 8:45, it was known to authorities that the four airliners had been hijacked, an unprecedented occurrence" (page 2). I agree that this was an unprecedented occurrence. However, no 'authority' at ANY level knew 'minutes after 8:45' that four airliners had been hijacked; only a few authorities knew that ONE had been hijacked, and the last jet hadn't even been hijacked (perhaps the FAA had a psychic on duty). All I can say is to first apply common sense: air traffic control is an unbelievably huge venture, involving a lot of people and a lot of airplanes. Guess what--it's REALLY COMPLICATED and difficult to accomplish, even when everyone is cooperating.
After applying common sense, read the precise details in the 9/11 Commission Report, or other sources if you don't trust the Commission: when a plane veers off course then disappears off the scope, the controllers assume it has mechanical problems and may have crashed; they then try to locate the plane using all available means, including asking other aircraft. Read the 9/11 Commission Report for a detailed, minute-by-minute account of what happened. I am a professional pilot, and the detailed Commission account fits my experience with air traffic controllers and flying in general. Bottom line: it was mass confusion involving too many agencies and layers. Nothing evil or conspiratorial, just a makeshift system built out of many years of changing technology.

2) Mr Marrs points out that the fighters flew "an estimated one third of their top speed of 1500 mph" (page 6). Some fighters' top speed is 1500 mph, that's true, but they do not plan to fly that fast unless absolutely necessary. Flying that speed burns gas at an incredible rate, and ensures the fighter will have very little time to defend anything, or dogfight, or perform any other mission. On 9/11, the fighter pilots were uncertain of their mission, because no one knew to what level were we being attacked.

3) In the end, it came down to one thing. BEFORE 9/11, NO ONE WAS PREPARED TO QUICKLY DECIDE TO SHOOT DOWN A CIVILIAN AIRLINER. Today, the situation would be different. But this was an unprecedented event (incidentally, please note the lack of intelligence indicating hijackers intended to fly airliners into buildings. The legendary August 6 PDB from 'Fahrenheit 9/11' simply mentioned terrorists' desire to hijack a plane, and this portion of the PDB was not the lead item, and a PDB is not a one-page deal. It's big and complex and I'm confident that if we knew everything that was in there, it would be hard to sleep at night. So 'terrorists want to hijack a plane.' Not exactly a new idea.)

What saddens me about this type of book is that it distracts from the very necessary national debate about national security. Much like 'Fahrenheit 9/11,' the author sometimes hits an interesting point, but the exceedingly poor academic quality of the argument removes all legitimacy. A case built on glaring inaccuracies and lack of scholarly research is not a case worth examining.

Summary: An interesting perspective !
Review: Mr. Marrs's book is another expose about the complicity versus incompetence theory. The problem with this theory is that complicity will never be proven; because if it does, then the world order and the make up of power will change, and the distrust in government will reach its ultimate peak, and that in itself would lead to anarchy. That is why the Kennedy assassination per example, remains a mystery, and that is why people are uncomfortable with conspiracy theories !
However, incompetence is a much better and acceptable scenario when it comes to the federal government. When a federal agency claims incompetence for its mistakes, it will receive more funding and more human resources, and will eventually expand to a bloating level in order to reduce these mistakes. Ironically, whenever an error occurs, it is usually blamed on that same bloated bureaucracy that was expanded to begin with to resolve that same problem. It is an interesting cycle, nevertheless a vicious one.
Are you confused yet? If you are, that is good ! Because that is the whole idea, which is to remain in a state of confusion; therefore, we accept whatever we are told, and that in turn would reduce our inner conflict about two opposing ideas, that eventually force us to choose one, in order for us to quell that inner conflict and regain our inner balance and harmony.
Anyway, Mr. Marrs's book is concise, blunt, and straight to the point. It is filled with well known and overwhelming facts. It will provide the reader with a speedy and interesting perspective on the 9/11 events.

Summary: More research needed.
Review: Mr. Marrs, the jets were not scrambled from the wrong locations. The jets were scrambled from the ONLY locations! Our former embarrassement to decmocracy, Bill Clinton, closed many military installations thoughout our country leaving us defenseless. The second airplane would have been brought down if the airforce base in New Jersey wasn't closed by the Clinton administation. I think it is very important to question our government and investigate this matter but unfortunetly this falsehood limits Mr. Marr's credibility.

Summary: Pure stupidity
Review: This book is 100% farce, 100% unscientific and 110% garbage.

For those that are stupid enough to believe that there was a conspiracy to bring down the Twin Towers, you are unintelligent.

The only issue is how culpable is the CIA. They were asleep at the wheel.

But what is more disconcerting is that there are people stupid enough not only to buy this book, but to believe it.

I read mine in the library, and would not pay a cent for this boo.

Summary: "SCARECROW" First, Then This.
Review: Three books you should buy for yourself for Christmas for youself and everyone you know that are as horrified by what took place on November 2 as we were by the Bush/bin Laden planned attacks of 9/11:

1. "SCARECROW" BY BILL JABANOSKI. By far the best of all of these, because it tells the HUMAN side of this horror first-hand as well as the political side and explains WHY we have become the horrible country we are.
2. This book.
3. "DUDE, WHERE'S MY COUNTRY" BY MICHAEL MOORE

and don't just read them, help DO SOMETHING about this.

Summary: "IT'S DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN"
Review: When the Constitutional Convention concluded in 1787, it is reported that Benjamin Franklin was asked what sort of government the Founding Fathers had crafted, and Franklin responded, "A republic, if you can keep it." Turns out we couldn't! Most Americans are unaware of the fact that their country has degenerated into an oligarchy.

I remember watching a live TV news broadcast of the September 11th event when a retired Air Force officer called in to the station and asked how it could be that nearly an hour after the first hijacked plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center, the skies over Washington D.C. still had NOT been secured, thus making the Flight 77 attack on the Pentagon possible. "It starts already," I thought to myself. What had started already? The suspicion; the weird anomalies; the missing puzzle pieces; the unexpected behavior and the odd lack of expected responses to an emergency of this kind. In short, signs of The Conspiracy manifested early on and were evident to the rare citizen with unusual political acuity.

Few citizens realize that Insider complicity is not only imaginable, but to be expected. It's not like we've broken new ground here! The sinking of the Lusitania which helped to embroil U.S. citizens in the unpopular World War I and the bombing of Pearl Harbor, forcing them into the equally unpopular World War II served as the template for September 11th and its subsequent "War On Terror" in the Middle East. It's deja vu all over again (quoting that immortal yogi, Berra.)

'INSIDE JOB' brings together so many of the unaswered questions surrounding the 9/11 terrorist attacks and presents them in a very sensible and earnest manner. Naturally, those American citizens who have the audacity to raise these serious questions, and worse yet, expect REASONABLE answers from their government representatives, will be dogged by those Americans who interpret this as being "unpatriotic." Never mind; 'INSIDE JOB' raises the pertinent questions, even if it can't definitively answer them :

* Why was President Bush not immediately whisked away from the elementary school where he was speaking when it was known that hijacked planes were in the air and his location was public knowledge?

* Why are a number of N.Y. firefighters convinced that the WTC towers were brought down by strategically placed bombs, and not the steel-melting inferno that has been "sold" to the public?

* Why did Condoleeza Rice lie and say that an attack of this nature was unimaginable when it can be shown that our Intelligence agencies had information many years in advance which indicated that just such an attack was being planned?
[*2005, Feb.1 ADDENDUM: In 1995, the Manila police uncovered an al Qaeda terrorist plot to hijack commercial airliners and fly them into American buildings. The plan was code named "Project Bojinka" and the World Trade Center was specifically mentioned as a target. This information was turned over to U.S. Intelligence authorities. You wouldn't learn this from a person who reviews the book after reading only 20 pages of it, because this information is located on page 55. Of course, 6 years later "Project Bojinka" is carried out, and now some high-ranking American authorities are telling us that the possibility of such an atrocity was unimaginable. Sure!]

These are just 3 of the many very relevant questions that our government officials have failed to address satisfactorily. You'll find the others in 'INSIDE JOB'; the staggering amount of them will catapult you out of your comfort zone.

While 'INSIDE JOB' presents many nagging questions and points out the great discrepancies in the "official" version of the 9/11 events, the reasons for these will make little sense to the casual reader until he or she has gained a real understanding of the Big Picture. To that end, I likewise also highly recommend 'THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND' by G. Edward Griffin; 'NONE DARE CALL IT TREASON: 25 YEARS LATER' by John Stormer; and 'ORIGINAL INTENT' by David Barton. You may also wish to check out my Amazon guides, 'So You Want To READ THE CONGRESSMAN'S CONFESSION ABOUT THE NEW WORLD ORDER' and 'So You Want To SEE THE NEW WORLD ORDER IN BLACK & WHITE.'

Since I opened with the wisdom of Benjamin Franklin, I'll also close with it : "Those who are willing to sacrifice their freedoms for a measure of security deserve neither." I guess he means us, huh?
