Summary: Great book on the History of the DC-10.
Review: If you want an all around history of the DC-10 you will get it in this book. It covers the planning and development of the DC-10 through the production and eventual end of the series. The book is packed with full color pictures and pictures of many of the DC-10 in the colors of her varied operators. Great book for the commercial aircraft enthusiast or anyone who has an interest in this venerable wide body plane. It even includes a section on aircraft lost due to accident and covers the American Airlines Flight 191 crash in detail. This book also includes a list of every DC-10 ever built by line and serial number and it's current (as of the time of book printing) status. Overall, A very enjoyable book.

Summary: An excellent look at the Douglas DC-10
Review: The Airlife's Airliner series of books cover individual commercial aircraft types in an interesting, in-depth manner.

Each volume of this British series covers a unique commercial aircraft type from its design, production, entry into service, its usage by airlines, and in some cases eventual demise.

Each volume features plenty of color and black and white photographs of the subject aircraft along with a complete construction list (accurate to date of publication for aircraft types still being built).

This volume covers the Douglas DC-10 ... including the most-recent commercial and military derivatives and provides an interesting look at the genesis of this long-range airliner especially when in competition with the Lockheed L1011 TriStar.
