Rating: Summary: A few sgort thoughts Review: I picked it up and read it cover to cover. I love the way Prof. Mirow organised it, which made me want to read on. Thorough and rich with detail, it nevertheless moves at a lively, dynamic pace. I admire the way he writes sensibly about a diverse region composed of 33 nations and more than half a billion people united by powerful commonalities. I thought he handled the small section on Cuba with tact, knowledge and discretion. While this book will no doubt be of interest to aficionados of Latin-American studies, it will also interest legal scholars. Our understanding of this increasingly significant region could use an infusion of perceptive and intelligent analysis.
