Review: Senator Byrd is the most knowledgable senator about the Constitution of the United States. He brings a perspective about the Separation of Powers based on 50 years of elected experience. When he sees a threat to the Constitution, we, as Americans, should listen or we may lose our country. As citizens, we must be able to say: "WE, THE PEOPLE!" Democracy demands it.

Review: This is one of the best books I have read about the place of GWB's presidency in history and among other presidents. It is thoughtful and informed by a man who has known eleven presidents.

You can tell it is a good book because people who criticise it do not so much criticise its content, which is fascinating and experienced. Instead they criticize its writing style, or even worse its author's past. They do not respond to the actual content of the book. All the one starers would love this book if it were about Bill Clinton.

GWB may be a good or bad President, depending on what you think is the best strategy for our times, but he is certainly grabbing power in alarming ways that threaten the balance of power in our nation. In the end, I think we have traded a short term appearance of strength for long term weakness and instability. Nevermind the deficit or the new generation of USA haters we are producing; at least we have a President who can talk tough internationally and can destroy things with the best of them. This short term appearance seems to have worked in getting GWB reelected.
