Summary: Clarity in Heidegger
Review: I've been a long time waiting for this book. Edwards is finally bring rationality to a place where it is egregiously lacking. Heidegger is one of the most obscure writers in history, and with his thorough knowledge of Heidegger's opus, Edwards is able to provide a commentary that is totally refreshing.

Summary: Hateful bile masquerading as critique
Review: It is sad -- and symptomatic of these proudly thoughtless times, when people prefer living comfortable lies to facing the kind of harshe truths found throughout Heidegger's work -- that a polemical rant like Edwards' book, which no reputable press would publish, could be the best-selling book on or by Heidegger. The confusions in the title are Edwards' own, projected upon the work of an author he seems proud to be unable to understand. The only interest this hate-blinded book has is as a sociological symptom of the times, in which some highly prejudiced "analytic" philosophers, who as a group lack any shared substantive commitments, gain a superficial sense of community by proudly, and ignorantly, opposing the "continental" philosophy they cannot instantly understand, but which they sense represents a threat to their own unquestioned assumptions and academic hegemony. If you want to find out what Edwards and his like so desperately don't want you to know, then read Heidegger himself. IGNORE THE HUGE "DISCOUNTS" -- AVOID THIS CHEAP AND POISONOUS DRECK AT ANY COST!
