Rating: Summary: Cowboy Up Review: Best true story I've read and i read plenty. Bravery at it's finest.I remember this remarkable story in the news as it was on Tv daily and newspapers. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: I KNEW REX CAUBLE Review: Haven't read this book so will give it a 3 because the author says Rex was innocent and because the reviewrs say the grammar is poor and text repetive.
Rex told me the story from beginning to end. I was there when he was trying to clear his name after he was out of prison. I will read this book and if it isn't accurate, I will write it the way Rex told it to me. I will write what he said about Muscles, his son, Josephine (his wife), his lawyer during his trial, the feds, and lawyer Racehorse Haynes. Rex was a self made Texas treasure who trusted his "friends" too much.
Rating: Summary: Great Story - horrible writing! Review: If you can ignore the grammatical blunders and repetition throughout the book, you will enjoy the story. My spouse, having met the horse trainer through the cattle business, couldn't put the book down. Personally, it took me several tries to complete the book -- to the point I finally "forced" myself to complete the reading. The amateurish writing was very distracting. Don't fool yourself into thinking it will get better. It won't. I hope the movie is better.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: These cowboys went 3,225 miles from the Texas Gulf coast to Santa Marta,Columbia and returned successfully with 40,000 pounds of Columbian Red Bud marijuana.....Yes i will give these cowboys the thumbs up.This is American history in that this will never happen again. These cowboys were extremely brave. They get my vote.Great book.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous book Review: These cowboys were at the watershed of technology. From 1984 to present technology has advanced dramatically. No GPS tracking systems, satellite technology, etc. These cowboys would certainly be caught quickly attempting 3,000 miles to Columbia and back. The feat of these cowboys is astonishing.Carrying millions of dollars in the shrimpboat one-way and 40,000 pounds of Red Bud on the return trip.American Shrimpboats into Santa Marta,Columbia scoring 40,000 pounds....now that's an once in a lifetime true story.Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: America's team Review: These cowboys were the heaviest grass smugglers that ever lived.Read it.
Rating: Summary: Incredibly idiotic Review: This book could have been shorter by leaving out the word 'I.' Totally unedited and gramatically terrible. Also Graham starts off describing his own flying experience in a T-41, the predecessor to the F-16.Ha! It's a single engine Cessna, predecessor to the Cessna 172. To believe that "muscles" could be the brains behind the largest marijuana smuggling operation in Texas, certainly not his multi-millionaire boss is ridiculous. This is a book about a crooked man and a pilot with little knowledge of what's going on under his nose
Rating: Summary: Good one Review: This great story leaves you wanting more...which is a good thing.
Rating: Summary: Great story. Review: This is a fabulous story that leaves you wanting more. The idea of these cowboys being on the cusp of a phenomenal move in technology is absolutely accurate.A few years ahead and these brave souls couldn't have utilized American shrimpboats some 3,000 miles back and forth without being detected.Today, the technology clearly would have detected these shrimpboats before they cleared the Gulf of Mexico.I remember the news however vaguely of this Cowboy marijuana smuggling operation. This could never happen again.Great read. Glenn Baker
