Rating: Summary: Forever Prophetic! Review: "To what an extent the whole existence of this people (the Jews) is based on a continuous lie is shown incomparably by the Protocols of the Wise Men of Zion, so infinitely hated by the Jews. They are based on a forgery, the Frantkfurter Zeitung moans and screams once every week: the best proof that they are authentic. What many Jews do unconsciously is here consciously exposed. And that is what matters. It is completely indifferent from what Jewish brain these disclosures originate; the important thing is that with positively terrifying certainty they reveal the nature and activity of the Jewish people and expose their inner context as well as their ultimate final aims. The best criticism applied to them, however, is reality. Anyone who examines the historical development of the last hundred years from the standpoint of this book will at once understand the screaming of the Jewish press. For once this book has become the common property of a people, the Jewish menace may be considered as broken." -Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf (307 Manheim)
Rating: Summary: Exhibit A on the racism that still plagues the 21st century Review: Amazon was right not to bar the book from its inventory and responsible to caveat its decision. Sadly, some readers will ignore the warning(and the critical notes/preface) and take delight in a "corroboration" of a Jewish conspiracy. It is a case study on anti-Judaic paranoia and the prototype for all the vitriolic bile one may still hear, of all places, in the august halls of the United Nations.
Those who will believe this screed are already predisposed to believe the worst about Jews and simply want this to be circulated among those who are somewhat naive to put it mildly, or perhaps only want to feed their irrational hatred with authoritative sounding documentation.
The Protocols have been reprinted many times with glowing modern prefaces by such and such an authority who claims to have independently checked out its outlandish premise.
I first read this book as an appendix to A Warrant for Genocide
which put the book in its proper context. From the editorial material quoted by Amazon, this edition does the same with its
notes and other critical apparautus.
Have we come far enough along from the day when Henry Ford passed the Protocols off as authentic? I only wish this were so. Unfortunately one can still buy editions of this book
published in Damascus, Cairo, Beirut and Baghdad that tout it as the unvarnished truth.
Whatever one may think about Zionism or the situation in the Middle East, this book's premise should have long ago been
eliminated from that issue.
I wish that I didn't have to "rate" the book as the rating system is not really applicable. However, as a critical edition, the book is recommended to those having some background in the subject, or as a casebook in college level courses on modern racism and propoganda.
Rating: Summary: coincidence Review: I have only read this book half way some years ago, and though I believe its popularity and survival may have "anti-semitic" roots, I have found it as a terrible coincidence that issues said to be false (from discounters of this book)are still going on today and cannot be denied.
Rating: Summary: The Most Dangerous Lie in History. Review: In "Warrant for a Genocide" Cohn states that the protocols are a creation of the underworld where madman express their ideas, and that sometimes, this ideas arrive to the real world, for the use of the uneducated and ignorant. The problem with the Protocols is that it is looks academic and convincing. The believers attribute it to "Professor Nilus" and say that it is proven by the fact that it fits the world's events. Well, here are a couple of facts that might help disproof these claims:1. Nilus wasn't a professor. He was a mentaly unstable and probably mentaly ill Russian mystican at the begining of the century, living with his wife and his ex-lover near a monastery in Russia. He only copied the protocoles. 2. The protocoles are based on a couple of books, the main one is a book from the 19th century written against Napoleon III, there is a copy of it in Paris' National Library with marked paragraphs that fit exactly to paragraphs in the protocols. There are even language difference: The copied part are in excellent French, while the rest isn't at all. 3. It was probably created by the Tzarist Secret Police and we know that the copy they created arrived to Nilus' hands. 4. The idea to proof the protocols by examining how they fit the facts is created by Henry Ford, after he crushed into a tree in order to avoid going to court about the protocols. He knew that there is no other way to 'proof' it. By the way, he lost his case and had to apologize. 5. The Protocols were proven as a fraud in numerous trials, those in Swissterland and South-Africa in 1934 are pretty well known. In every case, the supporters of the protocols couldn't proof their claim, and their defense was a mishmash of antisemite propoganda of the worst kind (Race, blood, etc.) I know that those who believe in it won't believe me, they'll say i'm Jewish and hiding the truth. It's a pitty that you do, because you learn nothing, you refuse to learn, you refuse to discuss, because deep in your heart you know that it's not your ratio that agrees with the protocols, it's the hatared in your heart. Perhaps, if you'll examine it, you'll see that it's not the Jews you hate, but yourselves. I think Amazon shouldn't sell this stuff.
Rating: Summary: Protocols; Propaganda at its finest Review: In the Protocols of the learned elders of Zion we have a text book example of how the concepts of Edward L. Bernays are applied to the International Relations arena. The book professes that even if it is later disproven that it must be taken seriously, as this too is within the plans of these mighty Zionist conspirators. As anyone who has ever tried to keep a secret, secret knows it is nearly impossible to do so. Human nature dictates that what we know, we often share. Thus the concept of an ancient, global conspiracy is as ludicrous as any work by Piere Barbet, and should be taken as seriously.
Rating: Summary: Truth or Forgery ? Review: Is this really the secret outline of a diabolical Jewish plot to control the world? Or is this infamous best-seller a (...)concocted by the Tsarist Russian secret police, as its detractors insist? "For nearly a century, this evil manuscript has united bigots of every stripe," says the Reader's Digest (April 1995). "Millions around the world embrace its tale of dark conspiracy." Offered caveat lector, this deluxe edition of the perennially controversial work includes a preface, extensive notes, a history of the Protocols, including information on many attempts to ban it, and other fascinating background material.
Rating: Summary: The Protocols Review: It's a good read but I don't really believe this is a Jewish doing, but an entity that hides behind the true jewish people. Its a gimmick used for these so called wealthy or powerful entity to cover themselves for the cause, whatever that cause maybe. Once these false jews are accused of any wrong doing they will cry "Anti-Semitc" (their shield) which in turn will automatically cause all other jews to rise up in protest along side them. They will do the same with anyone of other faith and non faith. So don't be fooled, Anti-semitism is really a ploy to divert attention away from their devious plan. Some of these leaders in Israel that hold the reigns of power are not of the true jewish faith, they mask themselves. There is a saying in the new testement of the bible....which John the baptist states., "Spawn of Vipers! who has directed you to fly from the future fury? Produce then fruit displaying your conversion; and do not in your pride say to yourselves, 'We have our ancestor Abraham'; for I tell you that the Father is able, even from these stones, to raise up children to Abraham. But the axe now lies at the root of the trees; every tree therefore which does not produce good fruit, will be cut down...". (Matthew 3:8-10).
Zionism was established as a polictial movement and a certain zionist leader used the bible for the cause of stealing land in Palestine, and used the jews for that cause. They are not of the true Jewish faith!!,
"Solomon consequently went after goddess, one of them being Ashteroth, the goddess of the Zidonians"(I king 11:5).
Rating: Summary: Know what you are reading Review: Let us get a few facts straight: This book was forged by the Czarist secret police Ochrana beginning this century and published by a crazy priest, Sergius Nilus, in 1905 (just in time for the pogroms). It is a crude, anti-semitic rehash of an excellent 1864 book by Maurice Joly's "Les Dialogues aux Enfers" - a dialogue in Hell between Montesquieu and Machiavelli, in which Machiavelli explains to a horrified Montesquieu how a liberal democracy with all the trappings (separations of power, a free press, etc) can be subverted step by step into a despotic regime. This was a not-so-veiled critique of the autocratic reign of Napoleon III. There is, alas, no English translation of this book, although there are French and German versions (that I know of). If you are the sort of troglodyte who believes in world-wide conspiracies, then any advice I may have for you is useless. If you are not, and you are just curious about a book which has had such a profound impact, I'd cautiously recommend reading it - bearing in mind that these lies contributed more than any other single book to the slaughter of millions of Jews in this century.
Rating: Summary: hate fantasy fiction is not controversial. Review: Now that I have read the laughable fiction, or better, fantasy, of the most virulent anti-semites, the Protocols, I am superbly angry at Amazon. Wal-Mart has proven their ignorance and prejudice beyond question. Amazon is close to that by even saying that this nonsense is controversial. UFOs, conspiracy theories, etc. may be possible or even probable, but to include the Protocols in that group is an insult to all.
If I wrote a book, making up all facts, that all Catholics kill and eat Muslim babies for breakfast, would it be possible that it was true? Or would it be fiction? Only the most idiotic hate filled moron would think this was controversial. And yet this is the Protocols, devised by the Czars to justify horrible pograms against the Jews. That is what Encyclopedia Brittanica says about it. How can proven forgery, which on every aspect is absurd be called anything but fiction.
Fine, sell it, but label it for what it is, pure garbage. On a scale from one to five, this has to be a minus five.
Rating: Summary: As Henry Ford said "It fits" Review: Of course the Zionists want to put down and criticize this book. Whether a true record of what took place in those meetings or not, the truth is right there in front of your face.
This tome clearly spells out the holohoax and the Jewish plan to implement same as the crux of their plan. If no one can criticize them (witness laws in Canada and Europe - what other event/group has this kind of protection?) because of worldwide guilt for the oft-mentioned but never substantiated 6 million, they can move unopposed in their plans.
Ask yourself one question: Why, when schools, police forces, libraries and every other AMERICAN government funded institution is in dire straights, are we supplying the Israelis with $10B a year? Why do we fight their wars for them? (What war?? How about Iraq!)
It was true then, it's true now. Never again? Never happened.
