Summary: reconsider and learn the truth by going there
Review: Hamas might be evil in ur eyes, but the government of USA is not evil? Hamas r terrorists but USA r not? well, didnt USA bomb Herrosheema with a Nuclear warhead and killed haundreds of thousands of innocent civilians and children?!! so why arent they terrorists? why do they have the right to kill innocent people while defending them selves? In my opinion, if u think hamas in a terrorist group, then u should consider the USA government a bigger terrorist.

What about isrealies, they r not terrorists?!!

do u know how many children Isreal has killed since its invasion to palestine? dont tell me Isreal has the right to defend its self ... What about palestinians, dont they have the right to defend themselves too??!! Palestinians are wonderful good hearted and simple people, very humble and pure..and they dont like killing children or inocent people, but they r replying to the terrorisim of Isreal. Believe me, If the USA has been occupied by an enemy and your children were killed EVERY SINGLE DAY, and ur peoples houses are demolished EVERY SINGLE DAY, and your freedom is taken away from u (since 1947), believe me u will fight back with what u have...I think that u should read some books that show how the palestinians r being supressed by the isrealies...

Plz reconsider ur accusation to Hamas and other Palestinian groups..they r not terrorists, they r heroes...if u want to visit them in Gaza, they will show u what is happening to them and how the Palestinian people r suffering, they will take care of u...if u visit these groups in Palestine, u will realize that the Israelis r the ones who r the terrorists

Summary: Not bad, but don't be deceived
Review: If you are looking for a book that will give you a better understanding of how the dark and confused underworld of anti-Israeli, anti-American and anti-West thinks and acts, this is a good book. It will give you a solid basic outline of the origins of Hamas, how it grew, how it's leaders think, and where Hamas fits in the spectrum of "anti-Zionist" organizations.

The author has a plodding writing style, not unlike that found in political science textbooks, but for the truly interested, there is enough grist to keep the mill of reading going steadily.

As an American, and as a person who believes that targeting civilians is murder in any armed conflict, this book is hard to read at times. Mr. Hroub declares at the outset of this book that he wrote it to be an impartial analysis of the Hamas movement, but that is a red herring. Mr. Hroub is clearly sypathetic to Hamas and, incredibly, to it's methods. However, if one wants to discover what really goes in inside an organization like Hamas I don't think one can be content with the analysis from people at a distance. To a certain extent, to know a criminal well, one has to become like him. Mr. Hroub knows what he is talking about, sadly.

Summary: A bit disappointment
Review: In Hamas: Political Thought And Practice, Khaled Hroub, visiting fellow at the Center of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies, University of Cambridge, surveys and analyzes the history and political perspectives of the Palestinian emancipation movement known as Hamas. Hroub shows how the movement came into being with the rise and evolution of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Intifada. Hroub also examines and explains the political and combative aspects of the struggle, including the strategy of Hamas, the parties to the struggle, the nature of the struggle, and the international context in which the struggle is carried out. Other sections are devoted to the political relationships of Hamas with other Palestinian groups; Hamas' political relations to the Arab states and regimes; the United Nations and various international organizations; and the theory and practice of Hamas and political pluralism, democratic elections, social action, and military action. Hroub's informative and comprehensive text is enhanced with an appendices of five historical Hamas documents and a select bibliography for further study. Hamas is highly recommended for students of international studies in general, and the Arab/Palestinian/Israeli conflict in particular.

Review: This book leaves out much to be desired.
You are better off reading "Islam Exposed" by Solomon Tulbure ISBN: 1932303456

Summary: Dont Be a Racist..& respect all religions!!
Review: u know, it ammazes me how people think that it is OK to humiliate Islam and prophet Mohammed PBUH and call him a terrorist!!!! The person who said that in the comment that was posted on Oct.17.2002 is a racist obviously and deserves to go to hell for saying that. It is everyones right to have an opinion about any subject, and i believe in free speech, but what was said by that reader was intorralable. That air headed racist doesnt know what he is talking about, and I think that amazon.com should be sued for posting such an offinsive remark by that racist SOB.
