Summary: Another confused writer with a paranoid ideology
Review: First: don't waste your money on this nonsense
Second: Working for the UN for the last five years has lead me to the conclusion that there is need for reform of the UN system. Humanitarian and political crisis need faster, more efficient and less "politicised" responses then the current system can provide.
There is plenty of analysis and recommendations on different options for reform: Brahimi report 2000, several SG reports. (documents on www.un.org, it's all public, and no need to waste money on junk like this book)
So why there was no fundamental reform of the UN since the end of the cold war?
The failure of the United States to comply with some of the very basic standards of the civilized world - as the use of force against other states, the protection of prisoners of war, the respect for the basic civil rights of persons in detention, etc. has undermined the system of international consensus, has created new conflicts or extended existing ones and has marginalized the role of diplomatic and multilateral actors in favor of an aggressive and short-sighted unilateralism. It has also undermined the emerging movement for global justice in the cases of the worst type of crimes, as the case of the ICC for crimes against humanity shows.
third: this author has based his book on ignorance and cheap demagogy. The only issue this book demonstrates is the alarming dimension of ignorance of US populism in dealing with international institutions. An amalgam of bad research, paranoid ideology, presumptuous claims and deliberate misrepresentation of facts.
I would rank this book right next to Saddam Hussein's novel, published a year before his fall. But Saddam's novel is more entertaining then this junk.

Summary: Everything you THINK you know is WRONG!
Review: Have you ever watched the news and wondered what is going wrong in the world? Why are nonsense laws being passed? Why is the US Constitution being shelved? Why have American schools become "dumbed down"? Why are American Soldiers being placed under International authority? Why are "open borders" being pushed by politicians? Why are are our historic sites being turned over to an international authority? Why is out military being exploited? Why are schools ignoring the second amendment and comparing the US Constitution to the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Charter? Why is our judicial system using "international law" to pass judgements in the US instead of the US Constitution? Why does the world seem to have gone insane? Read this book and you will find the answers! The United Nations is not the caring, philanthropic organization that you were taught about in school. The United Nations is not the savior of the world that the mainstream media would have you to believe. The United Nations is simply a miserable grasp at World Government. You'll be shocked at how far along the agenda REALLY is! Read this book and all the chaos will suddenly become crystal clear!

Summary: This is one of the most important books you will ever read
Review: I found this book to be very one sided. The author is trying to prove his point that the UN is some type of poison being fed to the rest of the world as a form of candy. He accused the UN of wanting to do away with small governments and create a world government. By using examples such as the international criminal court treaty, a treaty in which anyone can be brought to a world trial. Though it did open my eyes to things they don't teach you in high school, i found myself a little uneasy by the time i got to the 2nd chanpter. If all the author is saying is true. well then i think the US needes to make a drastic decision and pull itself right out of the UN. But then again the author could be completely over ananalyzing the world we live in simply trying to unify itself. And i see no harm in doing that.

Review: This book, by William F. Jasper, proves beyond a shadow of a doubt the fact that the UN is more than a harmless "debate society." It shows how, since it's founding in 1945, the UN is in fact the foundation of a one world goverment intent to destroy our sovereignty.
In this book Mr. Jasper goes into great detail about how our borders are being erased as our nation is slowly, quietly merged with Mexico and Canada; How our military is being used in an unconstitutional manner to enforce the dictates of the UN; why Supreme Court Justices like Sandra day O'Conner quote from international court decisions rather than base her arguments on the US constitution; how the UN, rather than stop genocide in places like Rawanda and the Congo actually contributed to it and encouraged it!
Whether or not you are conservative, every American should read this book and educate themselves about the UN and what it is doing.

Review: Who is this guy? I spent 20 years covering the UN and never saw this guy.... What needs to be exposed is this phoney and his phoney book.... This guy couldn't tell Kofi Annan from Mr. Coffee.... The UN may be a rip off but so is this book.... Save your money and give it to UNICEF...not this crook.
