Rating: Summary: Flynt Deconstructs the Bush Administration Review: Did you know that George Bush's chief-of-staff of eight years when he was governor of Texas is now in charge of Halliburton's no-bid contract in Iraq? As Larry Flynt points out, war profiteers used to be shot for such activity. And what about Michael Powell, chairman of the FCC? Flynt thinks he should be the first one to be fired if Kerry is elected -- nobody deserves such a powerful position because of their daddy, but that is a common theme in this administration. As Flynt rightly points out, the government has all the power now, and if anything, the attack of September 11th has pushed us further along towards a police state. Every citizen should think about why the Bush family sucks up to the Saudis and worships money more than their own country.
Rating: Summary: a must read... Review: for anyone who still truly believes in the 1st Amendment.
Even if you are a Bush supporter - it's still a very worthwhile read - as long as you love America and what it's SUPPOSED to stand for.
Rating: Summary: Excellent informative book! Review: I was not prepared to like this book by the lowly smut peddler(as he calls himself) but I did; actually I liked it a lot. It was well researched, provides lots of information, and is an easy read.
Rating: Summary: Weighing in against Bush Review: Larry Flynt argues that the Republican Party has duped America into thinking that it's policies that favor the rich also benefit the middle class but the reality is that this isn't true. Larry Flynt then goes on to clearly articulate the power of the average man when they vote and participate in the system to advance their own needs and not listen to the nonsense of elitist political people like Bush/Cheney.Flynt also highlights his now famous "Flynt Report" that derailed the the Republicans when they were going after Clinton. This is worth reading as the hypocracy of Bob Barr, Bob Livingstone and other politicians are amazing. I'd say this book is good for those who want a meat and potatoes approach to the current arguments against Bush/Cheney. The Flynt book is good to have in your home to remind yourself about how hypocritical the Republicans can be toward sexual matters and, more importantly, what specific reasons there are to defeat Bush/Cheney. I'd recommend buying the book.
Rating: Summary: Bush must go! Review: This book is the essential companion to Fahrenheit 9/11, and it will make every American so outraged that Bush will lose in a landslide! This is the book Rush Limbaugh and the Faux News Channel do NOT want you to read. Larry Flynt blows the conservatives out of the water and out of the atmosphere with this incredible expose. Only Flynt knows how to play hardball against the conservatives--everyone else is on eggshells by comparison!
Rating: Summary: Good Points, Great Book Review: This book is truly great. It really sheds light on issues that conservatives won't address. This is one of the best books I have read in a LONG time!!!
Rating: Summary: Let's Flynt These Bible Thumpers... Review: You gotta love Larry Flynt. I was hoping he'd win in the 2003 recall election for California Governor, but I guess even California isn't ready to be ruled by the "smut peddler who cares."
I have to admit, I was hoping for more sex and lies than politics in this book. I really wanted background on the great Larry to flesh out "The People v. Larry Flynt." I was kind of disappointed to find that the book was mostly politics, since Larry mostly cites anti-Bush books that I had already read. However, for those who haven't had a chance to read these books, Larry sets out a strong and straightforward case against this idiotic Administration. Larry is at his best pointing out the deranged hypocrisy of the right-wing Bible Thumpers, who spout mythological platitudes to advance an anti-poor, anti-minority, anti-privacy agenda.
I highly recommend this book to those impressed by the always individualistic and libertarian Larry Flynt. Too often, people succumb to external pressures to conform, whether at school, work, church, court, etc. Thankfully, we have a few brave patriots like Larry who never succumb to docile servility!!
