Rating: Summary: Excellent resource for anyone wishing to get into teaching! Review: This book is a wonderful guide for those who want to pursue a teaching career. It breaks down the requirements, covers credentialing, time frames, phone numbers and addresses for the Education offices in each state, in addition to countless other resources! I do highly recommend this book! The ... price is quite high, especially when you can use the internet for additional resources, but there really is a wealth of information inside this book and it has everything you need in one place. Just keep that in mind when you receive this 126 page, soft cover book! It doesn't look like much, but never judge a book by its cover, right? By the way, don't be fooled by another book titled "Careers In Teaching Handbook" by Andrew Calkins and David Haselkorn (which I have also reviewed). This is the EXACT same book!! The "Careers In Teaching Handbook" was printed in 1993 and "How To Become A Teacher" is the updated 2001 edition!! The titles are definitely different, so I bought the "Careers In Teaching Handbook" figuring it would be a nice additional resource (even if it was dated 1993). When I opened the handbook, I saw the same table of contents and same information, only older and dated. So, you may want to keep that in mind if you are looking for resources on a teaching career.
