Nader's connection to reality is extremely tenous. He is a latter-day Luddite, and his proposals have no chance of ever being adopted. This is why he has chosen the role of spoiler. If he can't be President, he reasons, why should Al Gore? Better to let a right-wing monster like George W. Bush become President and destroy the country!
