Rating: Summary: Dirty Cop? Review: Fuhrman is blatantly disingenuous in his attempt to give a greatly self-serving interpretation to his involvement in the OJ Simpson case. There is little doubt that OJ is guilty; it is also evident that the prosecution was so incompetent that a sequestered juror or one who followed the instructions would likely conclude that the prosecution did not carry its burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt; the defense was far more capable than the prosecution and even though the duty to defend the client zealously was given an excessively zealous interpretation by Cochran, they did what they were supposed to do by law; Judge Ito was not the most capable person for this type of case -- stir this together and the result was perhaps stunning, but not necessarily unexpected. Fuhrman is right that once it became known that he committed perjury and was a racist, he damaged the prosecution's case badly. However, he becomes nonsensical when he engages in a selfrighteous, obviously incredible attempt at self justification. His explanations for his misconduct are so grossly unbelievable that it takes an effort to keep reading.
Rating: Summary: If you read one more OJ book, it should be this one. Review: Here's the case against OJ that we never heard in Judge Ito's court, because the "judge" decided to let Johnnie Cochran (the real racist in this case) turn it into the trial of Mark Fuhrman.Fuhrman is guilty of making horrible, racist comments and doesn't try to evade his guilt on that count. But after reading this book, you will have no doubt that OJ got away with two brutal murders. Fuhrman takes you, step by step, through every minutiae of evidence introduced in the trial, and some that wasn't but should have been and debunks all the theories that suggest someone else did the crime. His explanation for the tapes is a little self-serving and I do believe that he was, at one time, a racist. But I also believe he is sincere when he says he isn't today.
Rating: Summary: Less about Brentwood and more about Fuhrman Review: I actually found this book to be less about what I expected: the murders of Ron Goldman and Nicole Simpson. Fuhrman seemed to focus on how it all affected him - which is of course his right - however I think he should have been more honest about his motives, simply through choosing a more appropriate title. There are no revelations, bar some examples of evidence not admissable in the trial. This book is very self-serving.
Rating: Summary: where justice is a game Review: I happened upon the book by accident. No matter what you think about Mark Furhman it was amazing how other people involved in the investigation and prosecution really fouled up the case. I am more convinced than ever of OJ's guilt and I can't believe how much information was left out of the trial. If the OJ Simpson case interests you than you should read this book.
Rating: Summary: Slam dunk evidence for those willing to see it Review: If you are open to seeing the truth, here it is, solid irrefutable evidence that OJ the murderer walked away. An interesting read for sure.
Rating: Summary: Just the Facts Review: In spite of what we will never know about Mark Fuhrman's race concerns, this book brings a lot of untold information to light. It caused me to get angry all over again about the verdict. The evidence was overwhelming and throughout this book much of what was never brought out in the trial was revealed. How sad that society let a psuedo-celebrity go free for killing 2 people because the defense was allowed to lead the case away from the evidence and toward race issues. If you harbored ill feelings about Mark Fuhrman after the trial, be fair and read his book and discover the limitations imposed on him by a disorganized prosecution team. He is a no-nonsense to-the-point writer.
Rating: Summary: A Brilliant Detective and Magnificent Author Review: Mark Fuhrman has truly displayed with perfection, his methods in desecting a crime scene. I throughly enjoyed "Murder In Brentwood, "Murder In Greenwich" and "Murder In Seattle". I know that he will be sorely missed in the Police Department however, maybe they need to miss him. They did not appreciate him when he was there so Mr. Fuhrman the best of luck. You are truly appreciated now. Without you I really do not believe that we would have ever known the truth about O. J.'s movement or Michael Skakel. Thank you for your much appreciated books.
Rating: Summary: More about Fuhrman than OJ Review: There's lots of valuable information here for OJ case buffs, including some things that didn't come out at the trial but should have (such as the empty knife box). However, the book (as well as Fuhrman's other true-crime books) isn't structured well; if you've been spoiled by the quasi-novelistic narratives of Ann Rule, Fuhrman's clunkier writing may disappoint you.
Fuhrman also devotes too much prose to self-serving justifications of his use of the "N-word" and flirtations with Naziism. At times the book seems to be more about Fuhrman and his sullied reputation than about OJ. I can understand him wanting to rehabilitate his image, but that should have been saved for an autobiography.
Rating: Summary: GULITY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT Review: THIS BOOK LET'S YOU IN ON THE SECRETS OF THE CASE AND GIVES GOOD DETAILS BUT IT SEEMS MARK FURMAN IS TRYING TO CLEAR HIMSELF OF THE RACIST WORD THE WHOLE WORLD HEARD HIM SAY. IF ANY ONE WHO READS THIS BOOK STILL BELIVES O.J IS GUILTY SOMETHING IS WRONG. I DON'T BELIVE ANY ONE IS THAT DUMB TO LEAVE THAT MUCH EVIDENCE AROUND THE HOUSE IN THE TRUCK AND ON THE VICTIMS. UP UNTIL I READ THIS BOOK I BELIVED THAT O.J COULD HAVE DONE IT AND THAT SOMEONE IN THE POLICE OFFICE TRIED TO MAKE SURE HE WAS CONVICTED BUT AFTER READING IT I REALY THINK SOMEONE SET HIM UP, MAYBE O.J HIMSELF!
