Summary: Not Worth Reading
Review: I have read four other trial books from the Maut and Nita Series. At times this text is hard to understand and follow. The author emphasizes how lawyers should not speak or act like lawyers in the court room. Maybe the author should have followed his own advice in writing this text.
If you like to open up the dictionary to expand your vocabulary, this is the text for you. The author loves to try to impress the reader with his exspansive vocabluary.
Not my reccomendation. Maut and Nita series are the best.

Summary: To be great in court, see Common Sense Rules of Advocacy
Review: Miller's book is good, but an excellent book on trial persuasion and advocacy is "Common Sense Rules of Advocacy for Lawyers" by Keith Evans, which is also a wonderful book for 3Ls and new lawyers who want to learn how to be effective advocates. However, Common Sense Rules of Advocacy is NOT a book for litigators, but for advocates.What others have said about Evans book: "Valuable review for the old timers and an excellent primer for those who are starting the climb."

Summary: Nice but light-weight
Review: This is a pleasant book about a life in the practice of the law. It got a very favorable review in the ABA Journal, so I bought it. It was a nice read, but pretty light-weight, and I do not feel that I had gained much from the reading. There are better books available on the subject.
