Summary: Good clean fun
Review: This book is elementary. It is intended for high-school and first year uni students who have never had to go near anything even resembling economics before. It seeks to achieve what most texts only say they attempt to do: (a) get you to THINK like an economist, and (b) CONVINCE you that this mode of thought actually makes 'good sense'. Using various stories, real and imaginary, it certainly points the student down path (a). As to whether it does the same with (b) is a trickier question - not least, paradoxically, because of the success of (a); that is, one suspects students might start to get the feeling that they are being hood-winked - "Surely it can't be THAT simple", one can hear them say doubtfully. ...Out of the mouths of babes.
