Summary: Returning To Sacred Knowledge
Review: Drawing upon a full range of established religious traditions, including Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and Judaism, Nasr explores how knowledge was conceptualized by both the divines of the religious traditions and the icons of modern secular thought. Nasr argues that man must take seriously the world in which he lives with a centrality rooted in the Sacred to avoid the spiritual and cultural death modern man is now experiencing.

Summary: The Perfect Fusion
Review: This book represents the apex of the world's leading Islamicist's prolific and indeed subliminal writing career; Dr. Nasr presents to us an amalgamation of traditional knowledge, wisdom, and history that rivals the impacts of the very books and authors he describes in his own. The writing style alone sets it apart from any pseudo-spiritual "rivals" that may challenge, in whatever dreamworld, the truth as Dr. Nasr describes it.
This book is a perfect fusion of philosophy, mysticism and history that lets us know in the most profound of ways where we are, where we came from, how we got here, and where we must go in the intellectual sense. The author's knowledge, and further articulation and expositon, of the world's greatest traditions and religions is the deepest available to us; the reader finds himself floating on a streaming river of cosmic porportions carrying him to the mindset from whence peace of mind and further transcendence of all earthly fetters stems.
A jewel among stones, this book is not only pivotal but also the cornerstone magnum opus of a writer who is central to bringing about true understanding on a deeper level of the similarites and differences of the world's religions and consequently a deeper understanding of ourselves; a must read for anyone at all worried about anything worth worrying about.
