Summary: Better than the 2000, preprogramming is weak
Review: I got this remote to replace a series of remotes that control 6 components (including a ReplayTV). I chose the 2500 over the 3000 because it has updated program codes and explicitly supports the ReplayTV.

In actual use, the preprogramming is somewhat weak - I had to manually program a number of the buttons for my Pioneer receiver and the ReplayTV. That was pretty easy. I had to be a little tricky when it came to changing the inputs on my Sony XBR400 TV, so here's a heads-up:

When programming the macro, hit: TV -> channel+ -> INPUT(as many times as you need) -> AMP -> INPUT -> Component You Want To Control. You can program this sequence into the component select keys and activate by holding the button for 2 secs.

The key response is slower than I'd like, and the beam seems weaker than the 2000. The device is not that much smaller than the 2000.

In summary, I might have been better off with the 3000, since I had to do a lot of custom programming anyway.

Summary: Awesome
Review: I waited a few months to write my review, so far I have 0 complaints this thing is awesome, easy to use, and hard to lose due to its size, it is bulky but i can now operate it with one hand, and would not go back to a smaller remote. This thing controls everything and its ability to use macros is awesome, well worth the 100 bucks or so that I dropped on it!

Summary: Follow the instructions, and it's fine!
Review: I've had my remote for two months now, and I'm completely satisfied. Yes, it's big and bulky, yes the manual is huge, and yes, it's a little complicated to set up but if you READ the instructions and follow the steps carefully you'll have very few if any problems. I found that by setting up one remote at a time ( I have 4 currently ) and testing each result that the process goes fairly smoothly. Even my wife who is definitely not a techie loves it, and that in itself vindicates the cost.

Summary: A little time consuming to set up
Review: Just got this remote a few days ago to replace four component remotes. It took me a little while setting up the different options for each component. The manual is a little difficult to understand at first. Because of this the macros may take a little bit of time to set up. However, the best part is that it is already programmed to function with Sony products. I was able to use it immediately with my tv and 5-dvd changer. Overall, a good buy for the long-term.

Summary: Very Nice
Review: The Macro feature makes turning on a movie a one button process. Heck my remote control fan also turns on at the same time! I used to sit down with four remotes to turn on the TV, go to video on the TV, turn on the Receiver and then to control the DVD player. Now I sit down just with this one and with the push of a button, all of my components turn on.

It may seem bulky to some, but compared to the other four remotes I had to have by my side, or digging into my leg on the couch, it seems smaller to me. Hey, it's very easy to find as well.

I use rechargable batteries so this is not an issue for me.

Overall, I love this remote. It functions really well. It wasn't that hard to program. In addition, it adds to the enjoyment of my HT (Home Theater) experience. I've spent good money on the TV and HT system etc. so why not make it all come together and function just as smoothly with this one touch total control remote.

Summary: Aweful
Review: This device would make a better melee weapon than remote. The design is bulky the programming configurations are aweful. The LCD is ultra sensitive, allowing you to inadvertantly perform commands with the slightest touch. It does not power off automatically and eats batteries like a Hummer eats gas. You are better off with a less expensive, slimmer device.
