We got this remote to replace the four remotes we had in our living room setup. After some work, it could control the TV, VCR and DirecTV, but there just was no way to get it to control our Bose DVD system.

After ordering a more expensive learning remote for our living room setup, we though maybe we could use the Jasco for our lower tech combo in our bed room; after all, we didn't have Bose equipment there. However, in there it wouldn't control the bottom of the line mass produced Phillips DVD player -- there was only one possible code for Phillips DVD, and it didn't work!

Don't get this unless you KNOW for a FACT that it controls every device you want it to. Otherwise it's a crap shoot. We gave ours to Good Will.

Summary: Quickly got it programmed!
Review: Has some ingenious features compared to other relatively cheap universals - only criticisms are doesn't seem to switch from rf input tv channels to video input type sources and in vcr mode offers no control of display function (which would toggle showing elapses time and sp vs.ep). Don't know whether other universals would. Has many many features for audio receivers which I didn't need. Dvd mode better in some ways than original, but doesn't permit set-up.

Review: I gave up on my other 6 remotes I have bought and this $15.99 remote I bought from Target is the most versatile and easiest to use.
Good size, easy to push buttons, easy to program codes all make this the king of the inexpensive universal remotes.
