Rating: Summary: A Great Resource Review: Dive Like a Pro is both an enjoyable read and very informative -- a great resource for any dive bag!

This is a disjointed set of lists that could be found in any magazine. See www.scubadiving.com for free.
In fact the author seems to want to bring in piecemeal DIR ideas (i.e. 7 ft. octo hose bungeed to the tank, among others - I don't have the book in front of me now), which probably aren't appropriate for the beginner. And these lists aren't geared toward the experienced diver. (The hose example: I hope no beginner ever has to share air in single file out of a cave, or enters an overhead environment to begin with. And beginners don't need the extra task of bungeeing up a long hose before every dive, or having it flop loose if their buddy shares air holding onto their tank valve. If you eventually go tech, you'll be buying redundant equipment and replacing octo hoses then.)
I'd recommend "The Certified Diver's Handbook" by Clay Coleman instead. It's full of good advice and discusses systematically the things you should know about. You'll get far more out of it.
Rating: Summary: "Dive Like A Pro" was a nice dive checklist for me. Review: I found "Dive Like A Pro" to be a very handy review. I haven't been diving in a while, and it was a great source for condensed common-sense tips and reminders. I found the format very user-friendly, and the content very readable. Like all common sense advice, you could figure much of this out on your own, but why learn it the hard (and dangerous)way when you can have it spoon fed to you by an expert? I liked it!

Rating: Summary: The best diving book available. Review: In "Dive Like a Pro", Rossier has managed to create a book that will teach beginners and experts alike, without becoming either condescending or tedious. Written with a touch of humor and an air of humanity that suggest Mr. Rossier has actually been there, "Dive Like a Pro" can effectively complement the dull, dry textbooks currently used in training. It has also become the most worn reference book on the shelf of this seasoned diver. "Dive Like a Pro" is a must-have for anyone who's ever even considered donning a tank.
Rating: Summary: Dive Like a Pro Review: So much information in a consise easy to read format, it should be a reference book for all divers and instructors! Mr. Rossier has taken the multitudes of articles he's written for Dive Training magazine, coupled them with the many years of experience gained from diving all over the world with a list of whos who in diving and turned this info into a easy to read and understand handbook for budding aquanauts and seasoned, all to wet veterans.

Rating: Summary: don't waste your dollars Review: You'd be better of just getting a diving magazine subscription, in fact most of this book seems to be just short tips, (maybe magazine articles) nothing in depth, I was very disappointed with the overall content.I can't imagine what type of diver would find this book helpful? Advanced? Certainly not, tips are way to generic and basic, newly certified diver? Probably not, most open water certifications cover everything in this book and then some. While I'm certain the author is a great diver it just does not translate in this book. Suggestion is to keep looking or re-read your original certification books.
