Review: I ordered a copy of this book iniitially because I was interested in buying beach property along the Alabama coast and I knew the author had done some extensive work in studying the beach erosion problems down there. I was expecting a somewhat technical manual that would be hard to understand. I was delighted with the easy to read, very interesting way in which Dr. Douglass highlights the causes and solutions to beach erosion. Honestly, I would pick this book up if you are in the slightest bit interested in learning more about America's beaches. Great pictures too. I read it in one sitting. My highest recommendation!
