Summary: It teaches young children to respect the natural state
Review: In this delightful book for children a pristine mountain where there were only animals and plants is made into a park so that it can be kept in that condition. A road is built to the mountain so that people can come to the park and enjoy nature. However, by the time the parking lots, water fountains, picnic tables, concession stands and all other things are built, it is no longer natural. The last page shows a flower trying to grow up through a pile of litter.
This book is an excellent resource to teach young children some of the principles of conservation and how the natural features of a park must be respected. I highly recommend it.
