Rating: Summary: A book for all not just adults, but kids too! Review: I am 13 years old and am in the midst of reading Terri Crisp's Out of Harms Way. It is a wonderful book about a womans contributions to saving the lives of animals during the worlds, at times, most dangerous threat, Mother Nature. I have always been an animal lover and when I am in a book store will look for books about people's expieriences with animals. I saw this book and bought it almost immediately. Once I started reading It, I was unable to put it down. Even during school when the teacher wasn't looking, I would sneak a look at the book! Only once was I caught and told to wait to read it later! It would take awhile to get through a chapter but It was worth it! I would also read it on the bus going to and from school. I keep track of all the books I read and I label them as ok, good, or excellent. This is definitely on the excellent scale. So even if you may only be 13 or even younger, and are very interested in animals or even just enjoy reading about them, then this is for you!! I think my friends are all very sick of hearing about it from me because I am always nagging at them to read it!
Rating: Summary: A MUST READ Review: I truly loved this book. Staying up until midnight some nights reading, it kept me wanting to read on to the next chapter. After reading this book I have a whole new perspective on how animals are treated. It never occurred to me that animals take that big a blow during natural disasters. I sympathized with the mistreated animals, and laughed at the comical creatures. I would suggest this book to anyone, animal lover or not, it was a great book.
Rating: Summary: A Dedicated Lady Review: Terri Crisp is an amazing lady. I didn't think anyone could be that dedicated to saving and caring for animals. The book was very well written and catching. I read it when I was 11 and I fell in love from the first chapter.
Rating: Summary: An amazing book about one woman's dedication to ALL animals Review: This is by far one of the best books I have ever read! I cannot believe how naive I have spent most of my life with respect to animals. I have never heard about a natural disaster somewhere in the world and thought about what it means for the animals. Now I can't turn on the news without wondering,"What about all the animals? Who will save them?" I've never actually cried while reading a book, but this one had me sobbing. It also made me angry and inspired me. I was angered at people's attitude towards leaving their pets in a disaster, but I understood that shelters like the Red Cross cannot accept pets. Terri Crisp's efforts to provide shelters for pets is wonderful. She is someone that I would like to know.
