Rating: Summary: Disappointment on the Trail Review: This book needs an editor. Typos, referenced page numbers in the index that do not match text pages, and other minor errors are all things I could overlook if the content were accurate. After actually taking the book into the field to spend a long weekend exploring the chapter on the Monongahela Headwaters, I now in hindsight believe that the little errors should have been a tip off to me that the book is not a carefully researched and presented guide. It was a frustrating chapter that made me reluctant to count on the book in the future. In some cases, based on the driving directions, I do not believe that the author ever really visited locations such as Glady Fork. A good editor's read would have picked up such confusions as whether Dry Fork and Harper's are the same location. Driving directions are given to a level of accuracy of 0.1 mile, but in some cases are completely off the mark so that even after hours spent searching using multiple maps we still could not locate said swimming holes. We have had better luck using directions from actual visitors to sites who then share their experiences on the internet. What a disappointment!
