Review: The most authoritative text on the subject. Lannoo and his colleagues cover just about everything on midwestern amphibians, and do it in a concise and informative layout. Well organized and easily searched for topics. Of particular note is the use throughout the book of the standard common names established and in use nationwide since 1978. This makes the book so much easier to use and understand. A good buy and a must for every herpetologists bookshelf.
