Rating: Summary: Confusing jumble of intersting, nature-related ancedotes Review: The book is a confusing jumble of interesting, nature-related anecdotes, weakly held together by the fact that everything is geographically located in the Andes. The thesis of the book is very difficult to discern, and worries the reader that there might not actually be one. I could not give it one star as the anecdotes are interesting, but one puts down the book with only a vague and curious understanding of nature and culture in the Andes. It does not help that writing style is complex and not very readable. Sorry for such a negative review.
