Rating: Summary: Decent, but doesn't cover all of Canadian Rockies Review: This book is great, if you are sticking to the area around the town of Canmore and around Banff National Park in Alberta. The title is VERY misleading, in that it is titled with as a guide to sport climbing the "Canadian Rockies," although it only covers the SE Canadian Rockies and includes lots of trad in some areas listed.
For the areas it covers, it does a pretty good job, showing bolts and such so you aren't stuck counting them on your own and hoping you have enough draws. The directions to getting to some of the areas isn't too great, but it is managable.
If you go to the SE Rockies, be sure to visit Grassi Lakes just outside of Canmore!!! It is bolted and offers 1-pitch climbs along with one 2-pitch climb (which you can pull off as a 1-pitch if you have a rope that is 70 m long, and I have heard 60 m works for a single pitch on that climb, too, but don't hold me to it for the 60 m!). The rock in that area is limestone and has lots of pockets... very nice =) .
