Review: After reading this book and then hiking through the park for a couple of years, i've come to love the book like an old friend, and indeed it seems to make its way into my backpack for all of my hiking and camping adventures; be they in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park or not! Altghough, there have been a few changes to the park because of storms and the such which happened about five years after the book was written, consequently resulting in an abrupt u-turn on the trail upon realization that our trail no longer continued forth as a golden road to devotion but rather as a landslide of debris and steep slope. Let this not detract from the purchase, her pages will quench the mind with tasty tidbits that seal those savory camping crescendos in the mind for eternity, with an additional hint of intellect and compassion for nature.
