Rating: Summary: This is by far the most interesting wolf book available! Review: I am not one to blah, blah, blah about what I think others ought to read, hear, experience, or otherwise, that is, unless it is absolutely imperitive that they do so. I found this book at a local independant bookstore. I was instantly drawn in by the intense gaze of the creature that walks the books cover. I picked it up, sat myself down anywhere I could find a suitable place, and proceeded to treat myself to what I now regard as an 'eye opening' experience. This author seems truely insightful, and does a good job of providing many different perspectives, and origins of thought regarding how wolves are seen, and have been seen previously. I was interested that the book was filled with illustrations, paintings, instead of photographs. And I believe, to its benefit. The author seems to be showcasing her own intimate perception of wolves. The illustrations are very interesting in that they are not static, or contrived looking, as many animal illustrations can be. They are almost photographic, the situations seem like in between moments, and you can imagine the wolves' every move. I could go on and on, there are so many wonderful things about this book. It is an absolute must for wolf lovers, no, animal lovers. Actually, it is really a book for anyone that can appreciate and respect ALL living things. That will be apparent immediately. This is one of those books that makes us think, and rethink. There is much to learn, much to look at. Be sure to read the preface! Tell a friend...
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Incredible Review: I would suggest this book to anyone!! Eva-Lena Rehnmark has done such a fine job of telling the story of wolves and has some of the most incredible illustrations that I have ever seen done of wolves. The illustrations and story worked so incredibly well together, and I am excited for the next book that she makes, whatever the subject. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AND EXCELLENT BOOK!!

Rating: Summary: This is by far the most interesting wolf book available! Review: This book is facinating, thoroughly researched, and very unique. I am most impressed with the fact that this writer/illustrator somehow allowed her voice to come through, without it souding as though she were standing on a soapbox. Many ideas, and perspectives, from many different cultures, and time periods are shared, and all of it is comfortably digestable. There are many wolf books available that have some good things within their pages, but this book Neither God Nor Devil is the most interesting. This book has a great format, and comes to you highly reccomended.
