Summary: Seperates truth from fiction
Review: The Trade-Off Myth: Fact and Fiction About Jobs and the Environment (Eban Goodstein, Island Press, 1999) Goodstein looks at several claims about jobs and the environment, and finds them all to be false: that regulations cause economy wide loss of jobs, that they devastate local economies, that they create pollution havens, that environmental regulations will generate large numbers of new jobs, and that efforts to control global warming will cause massive losses of jobs. Well written and highly recommended.
