Rating: Summary: Fascinating information on training ferrets to hunt Review: I am not a hunter, but I do have pet ferrets, and am fascinated with all aspects of the domestic ferret. In England, where an overabundance of rabbit warrens actually cause property and environmental damage, ferrets are used in hunting rabbits. McKay presents a wealth of information on training ferrets for hunting, the equipment used, retrieval of ferrets in rabbit holes, as well as more mundane matters such as where to hunt. Most of the photographs illustrate the points made in the accompanying text. The squeamish should be forewarned that this is a hands on book about hunting, and some of the photographs graphically depict dead bunnies and very excited ferrets, which is completely appropriate for the title. I found this book to be an enjoyable introduction into the art of ferreting, which is practiced almost exclusively over the water.
